😷5 SIMPLE STEPS TO TREAT SICK FISH🐠💊.

Aquarium Cop reminds us that we must observe our fish continuously. Only then will we notice subtle differences in the fish and their environment.

Here are 5 simple steps to cure your sick fish:
A - Keep your tank clean by feeding less.
B - For Ich raise the temperature to 86~
C - Feed a bit of fresh garlic every week.
D - Try 1/4tsp per gal epsom salts followed, if needed, by 1 drop per gal methylene blue. Dose both for 2 days each.
E - Apply sulfathiazole topically or as a dosage, 1/4tsp per gal one time.

If none of this works contact Dr. Steven on our morning stream or on Discord at Father Fish.

Father Fish mentions three specific pharmaceuticals: sulfathiazole, triple sulfa, and methylene blue.

The ich parasite is Ichthyophthirius multifiliis.

Sorry about the scratch on my hand. It is fine.

as a aquatic veterinarian I would like to say, brilliant job father fish. In a round about way it was explained very well. Overfeeding is one of the major issues seen and treated in the hobby. Feedings itself is not, it's the domino affect from the feeding that causes the issues.. another thing to note, is a virus can look like a bacteria and a bacteria a virus. Orginisims will do what they need to survive...salts have good and bad sides to them.and more good than bad, And putting a stressed out fish in 100% new water will only stress it out more, that's another thing we see very often...but in closing father fish knows his stuff and is one of the very few fish keepers I would trust with fish and the knowledge 100% with no doubt.

Steven the biologist as in dr Bryant from the Norfolk aquatic research center in virginia?? Oh my what a small world. You probably dont remember me but you saved two tanks of mine that where full of sick fish. I also spoke to you at a fish club meeting. Well now I know where to find you again! I'll be passing this find over to the fish club! Wonderful finding this channel and you again!

Thank you for the great back to basics approach to healing a sick fish. It brought back memories of my grandmother using Epsom salts in her fish tank. That was 60 years ago, and it worked then. I love the information you share. People that listen and apply it are going to have much healthier, happier, stronger fish and a much better aquarium for them to live in.

Worried about your hand. Glad you're ok. Great video.
Rewatched your 3 Crimes Against Tropical Fish. It should be required viewing for every beginner.
My New Years resolution is to reduce feedings in all my tanks. My cichlids are healthy but fat. I want them to live long and prosper. Now I just have to get use to all the theatrics and begging. Blessings to you Father Fish. Have a safe and healthy New Year.

I rescue Sailfin Mollies who show signs of ich or velvet.
I love to see the spots literally melt off the fish as I introduce them into my 55g brackish tank.
And the Mollies really enjoy the salinity.

Hungry fish is a healthy fish but also STRONG one too.
Look at the scar the fish left on Father Fish's hand.
