Some days you just need to get out and go somewhere you've never been...in my case...this was Whittier.
I've driven by it too many times to count, but actually never visited. Luckily this last weekend a few friends were down to go and we took a little day trip from Anchorage.
It was beautiful and sunny when we left Anchorage...and as soon as we got through the tunnel for Whittier, it got cloudy and rained right when we left. So not bad overall...especially when you have good company!
