Honestly, everywhere has its pros and cons. Nowhere is perfect, and every country has its own unique beauty.

Hey there, Ryan…I am from North Carolina in the USA. My late father fought in the front lines in France and Germany in WW2. He helped liberate the French town of Biche (not sure of the spelling). As a teenager, my family and I had the opportunity of visiting France and I loved it very much. I know that the sentiments of Paris do not represent the entire country, but I hope that the sacrifices made by the allies on behalf of France are never forgotten. Bet wishes as you continue to renovate your home!

From the USA. As an international flight attendant for 20 years I spent a great deal of time in Paris. My family and I also visited several other towns and areas in France on leisure trips. I absolutely love France. The people, the food, the culture, the landscape, the gypsy jazz music - love it all! My maternal grandfather descended from French Huguenots, having left France to escape persecution. Wish I could afford to live in Paris but, I have learned smaller towns are affordable. Politically, I understand many countries are in the same boat as we are - hanging on to democracy with white knuckles! Best of luck to us all in our battles with fascist dictators! 🇺🇸🇫🇷

We currently live in Boulder Colorado, USA. When my husband retires in 2027 we're moving to Brittany. When we visited, we loved it there. Outside of Paris, people were lovely and friendly. The culture there suits us better. I can hardly wait for market days! And the countryside is gorgeous. And the coast. And all the little medieval towns. There's a good tax treaty on retirement money between France and the States and the real estate prices are far better than here in the US! It's going to be quite an adventure for us.

Watching you go up the stairs in your new house in "rural France" reminded me of the way it looked and how much nicer it already looks now. Congrats Ryan, you are doing a great job.

Seems there are lots of Americans and Canadians watching you Ryan - hi to them all- and there’s a few of us brits here watching you too 😊. I’m from Scotland 👋👋. I visited France a few times, years ago now, and had a great time. I think there are great places and wonderful people everywhere if you look hard enough 😍 ignore the rest.

It may sound odd, but the only reason I can personally see for coming to France is to meet you and your "crew". You all have such amazing chemistry and it makes me wish I had that type of support network. Friends like that are hard to come by and you are a very lucky man.

As for the USA, politics have unfortunately taken priority over wellness in recent years. It's very sad.

Have mercy on the USA! We are at a crossroads right now. Please pray that democracy survives here. Never been to France, but it seems beautiful. I hope you can visit the US someday.

Hey Ryan, Miss your videos. I'm in Western North Carolina. My grandmother was a French national who married my grandfather after WWII. I've been to France and really enjoyed it, and meeting my extended family. I really enjoy your videos, and it's clear you haven't done renovation before, but it's a great adventure and a wonderful learning experience for you. I've been really enjoying your videos, and look forward to your return!

I live in Raleigh, North Carolina. I lived in France for two years the whole of 1994 and the whole of 1995 going to University in Aix en Provence. I lived with a French Family and almost married my French fiancé then. Of course, France has changed a lot in 30 years. But I always will have a positive memory and opinion of the country. If my life had played out differently, I may have stayed in France. I have been back several times. I miss it all the time. I watch your channel as well as Billy's and Stephanies, etc etc. The whole Petherick family. Sean's family, and so many other chateaux owners. You make France alive for me and keep me from missing it too much because I am there when I watch everyone. Bon Courage Ryan!

I'm surprised so many people are leaving, i know that Ryan hasn't posted in over a month, but i would imagine that he has good reasons for that. I'm just here to show him my support. I hope you're doing well Ryan.
