Amazing as always! It's somewhat true that many opera singers don't know how to belt, or even how to sing in anything other than pure head voice. However that's typically because they were only specifically trained in classical and nothing else. With comprehensive training in varied styles, of course opera singers can also learn how to belt. I will have to say though, that if other styles/techniques such as belting are introduced very late in an opera singer's career (as in someone much older), it becomes relatively difficult to make the adjustments.

Opera singer can actually belt and it is called covering. It is achieved through a low larynx and pharyngeal resonance . It is more obvious in male singing however women still have it .
