ABSURD! Save RGV just Sued SpaceX to Stop Using Water Deluge System. Flight 5 Delay?
Attention!
We’re on the way to Flight 5, but it may be not easy.
Because while the FAA has not confirmed the Flight 5 schedule yet, Save RGV sued SpaceX about the issue related to the water deluge system.
Will that affect the launch schedule?
Next, NASA and SpaceX are trying to protect the Europa Clipper and Falcon Heavy from the powerful hurricane.
Meanwhile, concerns about de-orbiting the ISS are rising.
There’s a lot of big news to cover, so let’s dive right into it on today’s episode of Great SpaceX.
ABSURD! Save RGV just Sued SpaceX to Stop Using Water Deluge System. Flight 5 Delay?
Right now, SpaceX’s Flight 5 preparations are rushly completed. The determination has been shown in updates of the company.
Amazingly, after much criticism, the FAA finally released its first positive update, indicating that the launch schedule was feasible.
But everything going so well caused me to feel skeptical, and indeed the problem appeared.
On October 9, an environmental organization we mentioned a few months ago, SaveRGV, officially filed a lawsuit against SpaceX for illegally discharging water at the Boca Chica, Texas launch site.
ABSURD! Save RGV just Sued SpaceX to Stop Using Water Deluge System. Flight 5 Delay?
According to updates from Bloomberglaw, SaveRGV is asking a judge to prohibit SpaceX from using the water deluge system below the OLM installed to prevent a launch pad explosion until the company receives a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit under the Clean Water Act. This organization pointed out that SpaceX’s system has been polluted at least 13 times without a permit. They also explained that the high temperatures from testing allow metals like mercury, aluminum, and zinc to flow into the water and contaminate surrounding areas.
The lawsuit, which was announced by SaveRGV in June, accuses SpaceX of violating the state’s Clean Water Act.

To be resolved, thank you.

I think SpaceX should counter sue Save RGV into oblivion.

All these groups should be counter sued for lack of standing and fraudulent and frivolous lawsuits to the point of going out of business, as well as suing the executives personally to bankruptcy!

Environmentalists are not interested in the environment, they are interested in money and power. I hope Texas throws out the lawsuit and dismantles the ship of fools, the RGV.

Their argument about pollution from launchpad is laughable when they are okay with the navy breaking up ships less than a mile up the beach

Good enough to drink, but not good enough for the ground.

Sue Origin probably lurking somewhere behind Save RGV

Notice how many issues Space X has had since Elon has aligned with Trump!

Why don’t they worry about the storm and the people in the storm?

To stop this launch, Save RGV would have to convince a judge to order an injunction, which I find unlikely as they would need to basically prove that there is some sort of clear and immediate danger, which I find unlikely. Especially since SpaceX has already obtained permits to use the deluge system, which required demonstrating the system was safe. I think a judge would deny an injunction and let the case go normally, in which case nothing will be stopped until the end of the case, which could take a very long time.

Let Flight 5 fly! And start heavily fining organizations who initiate frivolous lawsuits.

If a judge doesn't throw out this lawsuit, there needs to be an investigation of the judge. Bank accounts foreign and domestic. And transcript of their phone texts, emails, and phone calls. Has the White House contacted them? Drug Cartels? Have there been any deposits into their bank accounts? Any large gifts: cars, diamonds, houses, land?

Never heard of that group. Water deluge has been used in rocketry since the 1950s

Lets get a petition going, everyone would sign it.

I wonder if Save RVG will also sue NASA and Boeing ( who both use water during launches ) 🙄🙄🙄🙄

So if someone files a malicious lawsuit, can you countersue and get damages from them if they lose both cases?

This is why we can't have nice things!

This would be the time for the FAA to save themselves and dismiss the Save RGV( whatever that is) suit and allow this launch. Deal with the suit next launch.

The save RGV should be sued and jailed for baseless lawsuits. Use the same punishment as calling in fake 911 calls.

I wonder how that stands against petrol pollution in the gulf?

Curious, how they wait for launch countdowns to start, before filing lawsuits.
