Rain radar IMHO has made a big difference. Instead of waiting around wondering if the rain will go away, a quick glace at the radar (regardless of the forecast) is usually all you need.

I live on the east coast of Canada, our two best ways of predicting weather are: looking out the window, and throwing darts at pieces of paper on the wall

The weather forecasters in Maine tend to pander to tourists, in the winter to the skiers and cold weather adventurers and in the warmer weather to the beach goers and "leaf peepers" (we get some rad fall tree foliage) so anything you hear on the TV news weather must be taken with a grain of salt, or do what I've done and become pretty good at figuring it out for yourself by looking at satellite images.

Even if you built a time-machine and went back in time, you still couldn't predict the weather too far ahead, because as soon as you arrive in the past, your breathing and your body head will affect the atmosphere.

considering my local news meteorologist name is Dallas Raines, I feel he gives pretty good forecasts and so enthusiastic about them as well lol

I've just assumed that the weather will be the opposite of what the weatherman says.

I wish I could remember which comedian said this, but it goes something like this:

Meteorologists are the only people on the planet whose job it is to predict the future and who people feel justified in being mad at when the prediction is wrong.

Being a meteorologist is easy, you scream POLAR VORTEX and everyone freaks out and forgets about your messups

However, wouldn't more data gathered over time along with the data that actually occurred help in the long run?
