Although it is in essence cheaper, the average Brit earns much less than the average American. So, the cost of living is still unbearable for a lot of people here.

It’s all relative to your wage. So if wages are higher in the US and things cost more it could be equally as expensive as here.

East and west coast you need a 100k plus. Middle America you can get by with 50k
Ball park figures, but it’s like the South and north of England

Cost of living isnt cheaper just the living standards are lower. Everything cost more in the UK when you compare like for like. Not sure why Americans lie. Housing, consumer, goods, pertol, electricity, transportation, taxes, etc are all higher.

Living in the UK is like living on the American coast with an Alabama salary.
