Nine million people in the UK live in hygiene poverty, according to research by In Kind Direct charity, which says that number tripled on last year.

Marie Henry, a volunteer for Breadline London foodbank, has told Sky News that they've seen 'almost a 100% increase' in demand for hygiene products, adding that some women are using newspapers because they can't afford period products.

I used to work near a food was always relieved to see that lots of the people who used it could still afford tattoos, piercings, hair dyes (they seemed especially keen on pinks and purples) expensive footwear and jewelry. Yes, I am cynical... especially when some one can afford newspapers but not a 49p pack of pads from Aldi. When I was young people had a bit of pride and didn't like to accept like the give me, give me, give me attitude today.

No offence but something doesn't seem right here.
Toothpaste and soap are cheap. Especially the non branded ones.
Same goes for period products.

My dad was a miner - it was a daily ritual to use washing up liquid in the showers after a shift.

How can the uk lie to the world pretending they have gave house holds £3000 cost of living yet they have not! It’s a lie! They gave £300 per person and not everyone got it. Most people working more than one job and still are not eating.

But, look at the amount of traffic on our roads, look at the supermarket car parks that are always full.

That’s over 10% of the UK population. As strained as budgets are in the UK at the minute, I don’t believe this stat for a second.

All these large politically knowledgeable company's report lack of this or that or talk of poverty in the UK. Never mention the fact the UK has the worst pay to costs balance in the western world. Not just this inflation which is driving working people to food bank's. But generations of falling pay to cost.

unfortunately people have had it too easy for a long time, changing habits is hard vinegar has been used for a long time and is a natural cleaner, there are people that are 100x worse off and they manage with so little, yes things cost but a bar of soap goes a long way
