This story reminds me of a girl who was in my year in secondary school. Her lice were so bad you’d see them crawling on her face. The school never helped her and she was only at my school for a year before leaving but I always felt so sorry for her. No one would be friends with her because you’d literally see lice mating on her head they we’re so bad. . Schools are just as responsible as parents in these cases.

Since ancient times my Inuit people washed our hair with volcanic ash and oils from special plants to get rid of lice, there's no excuse for doing nothing especially now that more treatment options are available

My sister and I got denied a dental cleaning because we had lice. We were 6 and 7. My mom told the hygienist that she was going to wash our hair with gasoline and if it didn't work that she would have our father shave our heads. They wouldn't let her leave until she was properly educated on how to handle head lice. I'm so grateful that someone at the dental wrote all of this down for me to find 20 years later instead of brushing it off as a strange interaction.

My first child death in the hospital, was a little girl who had worms so bad that she was in complete failure. When we looked at her records, she had been diagnosed three years prior. They let a perfectly healthy child deteriorate to death over a 14 day prescription (which was free), and no follow-up appointment. They obviously knew she had them, as she was incontinent and her stool was full of worms. I have never wanted to harm anyone, but those two... thinking of how miserable the child must have been all that time... I am not sure I wouldn't kick them off a rocky cliff. This really infuriates me.

I used to work as a head lice removal technician, and I have seen some shit, with the worst case being a girl that had eggs on every hair on her head from root to tip that was about a 7 hour treatment. And other than the lice, that child was in fine health. For a lice infestation to be bad enough to make a person sick let alone contribute to their death, it takes years of neglect. That it was mentioned in her autopsy even, is mindblowing to me.

I was a little girl once. I grew up in foster homes. One of the homes I lived was taken over by a single mom with 2 kids. She didn't like me. I was locked in the room and got head lice and body bugs. My head was so engrossed with bugs that you could see them crawling . I got bullied from teachers and my peers. I would scratch holes into my scalp that got infected. It took 5 years for my scalp to naturally heal after the lice were finally removed. Another 20 plus years to heal from trauma of extreme cruelty. Sometimes I reflect back and praise God that I'm alive and well. Sound minded and loving.

Back when i was in elementary the school would conduct lice checks on every student every 3 months and the kids that had lice were not able to come back until they were lice free. The nurse would also give lice kits to the students that had them so parents who couldnt afford treatment didnt have to worry about paying for it. They need to bring this back into the schools to help some of the problem.

On the poverty aspect, I've seen a homeless woman stealing baby stuff for her baby and I kept my mouth shut, she also stole pads. I didnt say anything because I understood.

I get in touch with agencies for the things my kids need. When my son was 2months old there was a bad storm and I accidentally left 2 boxes of pampers and wipes in my mom's car. My neighbor came to my house and watched my baby and I walked a mile to Walgreens with 3 bucks for pampers. I went to the manager and told him the issue and I told him I have to get pampers.
He brought the pampers and wipes and a case of waters, then, he called the plow truck had him take me home. Thank God.

We do what we have to.. every day ALL DAY...
Just DONT BLOCK YOUR BLESSINGS

Love you all be safe and ALWAYS FIGHT FOR YOUR BABIES!!

This hits weird for me. My mum was a serious alcoholic and when i was 12 I had heard lice for months and months. I kept telling her that I did, but she just said I didn’t and wouldn’t do anything about it. I’m disabled so I couldn’t go to the shop myself and buy shampoo for it or anything. God it was so embarrassing at school. My heart breaks for this poor girl.

Wow, they “allegedly”, tortured that baby to death by not getting her help for lice and weren’t even feeding her. I hope the other two girl recover from this! RIP baby girl! 💙✨

Thank you for posting this. I’ve been very sick for several months and when you mentioned the girl’s symptoms I realized they were EXACTLY like mine! I asked my dr to run some blood tests and sure enough I was severely anemic!! Thank you so much for helping me with my mystery illness. I’m already feeling so much better now that I’ve been taking iron supplements. Based on how sick I was, I can only imagine how much this poor little girl suffered!!

When my oldest daughter was 8yr old, she got lice from a outbreak at her elementary school. She had waist length hair that was tight natural curls. We did the lice stuff from the pharmacy. Did not work. Dr suggested we use mayo (lots and put up in a cap for a few hours or about the length of a Disney movie) and not only did it work, the oils made is so much easier to comb through it. Thank goodness that was the only time we ever had lice and I never had it as a child so it was gross and stressful for both of us. These poor kids. ❤

I am sick of hearing about children dying at the hands of their parents! We need to do more to protect them it’s just heart breaking 😢

I NEVER got lice during my school years. I am 34 years old now. My daughter got lice while in 2nd grade and before I knew she had it, she gave it to me and I had hair the way to my butt. It was one of the worst thing I have ever came across. Thankfully I caught it super super early but I legit put on like 3-4 lice treatments in a week (I was stupid to do that much in such a short time) but it worked. Took me HOURS to comb my long ass hair through that little ass comb. Ugh. My heart goes out to anybody who gets lice without getting treatment. I could NOT imagine the feeling of bugs crawling on my head and just accepting it because nobody would help me get rid of them. That poor baby. 💔💔💔

This is so crazy to me, this family used to live in my hometown in New Mexico. I used to work at a Chili’s as a host and they would come in MULTIPLE times a week. They were all so sweet to me and talked with me for 30+ minutes sometimes, and none of their children were in bad condition, had bad hygiene, or seemed like they were doing bad in any way, shape or form. I will never get over this. I will always wonder what went wrong when they moved to Arizona.
