Good to see someone put this out there for the RV community! I found this trick a few years back. Both my wife and teenage daughter have hair that touches their behinds. This has never failed to work for me.

I just wanted to say I did exactly as you did with our shower drain and it WORKED! I just wanted to take you for posting this video.

You can be pro-active and pour a cup of vinegar down your drains on a weekly basis. We do that on our S&B house. I will give the baking soda/vinegar solution a shot in my tub...I have a slow drain there. Thanks, Julie!

Your way works better! Thanks for the tip! If you combine them the fizzing is over before you can put them in the drain!

I bet that is exactly our same problem! I'm anxious to try this today, aside from the yuckiness I'm sure to pull out from my mane as well.

Well, thanks for the response. I followed the procedure today, and at first I was not happy as the vinegar just "sat there for a long while, but I waited, doing some other cleaning on the trailer and about 5 hours later went back and did the hot water bucket and it spurted and gushed and Voila! It cleared out nicely. Again thanks for the video and I am sure it has helped many a traveler and will continue to do so. :-)

Our plumber advised us to pour a cup pf vinegar (no baking soda) down each drain on a regular basis to keep'em clear. It's easy to forget that vinegar is basically an acid, albeit mild. LOVED that little drain snake!

Good! Baking soda, vinegar, I'll have to use that.

Great idea. I purchased a drain screen just like the one I have for my home, It screw's in just like the drain cover and it keep the hair from going down the drain.
Did you know 50/50 vinegar and water will leave no streaks when you clean window's and mirrors and in winter if you divide by thirds 1/3 water, 1/3 vinegar, 1/3 alcohol use it to clean window's it won't freeze.
Keep the rubber on the road.

Great video, thanks, it worked! Except, since I use a drain screen, there was no hair (mine's about as long as yours but not as thick or curly). The drain screen looks like a bowl made out of screen, and costs just a few bucks. I have to clean it after each shower, but it's easier than snaking.

Good job Julie, we had the exact same thing happen in our Tiffin DP this summer. I tried the baking Soda & Vinegar mixture 1st and it didn't work. I then resorted to a similar hair grabber tool but caution must be exercised so that you don't puncture the Hepvo trap that Tiffin uses in their shower drains. if you puncture the bladder in the Hepvo trap then you will get odors back thru your shower drain. I was able to carefully remove hair and then used the baking soda & vinegar mixture. I also installed a hair trap in the drain so, I won't have to continue to be concerned about the drain clogging anymore. I hope this helps. Safe travels to you both!

Glad to see it worked! I tried it on our home bathroom drain, but didn't get great results. (not enough baking soda?).

We’re having this problem. I need to try this. What kind of shower head do you have it seems to have great water pressure!

We bought a drain cover, that fits right over the standard cover. the holes are smaller, so it catches the wife's hair, but still drains well. Being bald I don't contribute to the problem..lol

Good job!!! Come on it's just hair and soap (and dead skin cells, and bacteria, and etc. lol) Another thing to consider with slow drains is a clogged vent pipe. So if your solution is not the total fix, then the vent stack needs to be snaked also. Later guys... Terry
