Wind-Proof Your Furnace | Big Maxx Furnace Modification

Is your furnace cutting out every time the wind picks up? In this video, I demonstrate how I solved the problem by modifying the exhaust with stainless steel end caps to stop wind from tripping the sensor and causing shutdowns. This may not be a problem for all furnaces but certainly was for mine.

Join me as I walk through the installation process and show you how it’s working. If you’ve been struggling with this issue, this DIY fix might just do the trick!

So far so good. We’ve had a few very windy days since making this video and no short cycling or shutdowns!

I’m having the exact same issue with a 50, 000 btu big max heater I’ve tried numerous different end caps even tried a high wind style cap still flame goes out and restarts on windy days. It must be a heater issue as other people have same terminations and no issues I have not tried what you did here, I feel the wind would still funnel into heater though
