Xbox has not been inspiring confidence for far too long now. Yeah, the showcases are good but they need to actually deliver on their promises which they fail at catastrophically.

There's nothing *"shortsighted"* about calling out Microsoft, who *promised* Game Pass would not see any price increase after their acquisition of Activision, then increasing the price of Game Pass.

People are calling them out for their lies and there is literally no justification for them doing that, so people have a right to feel aggrieved.

They also assured the CMA that it wouldn't increase, so they've lied to multiple people.

It's not going to impact me, but I still have to side with the majority, many who would no doubt be budgeting themselves, so will have to stop Game Pass and just get it when there are a few games which may interest them.

In the long run, it's going to be a loss for Microsoft and a lot of good wil lost.

They have increased the cost now twice in one year, and got rid of the console tier having day one releases, started putting console exclusives other places, in the 9 months since Activison has been acquired they have put 1 Activison game on. I just don’t know how one could see all of this and be like, “everything is great with XBox hardware!”

The 6 to 12 month wait times would be on par to what EA Play does.

Yeah… there ain’t no way Sony would put Helldivers II on GamePass. If it was on Xbox, it would have to be sold. Why would they give Xbox consumers the better deal?

Two price rises in quick succession doesn’t scream sustainable to me.

They’re stopping you stacking at the current price because it’s going up again before too long.

I know this is a proXbox channel, but the gamepass rationalization ain't flying man. Xbox lost me as far as services when they got rid of yearly discounts for live and gamepass. Luckily cloud saving is free

The difference in the prices between ultimate and PC is the $75 that you're forced to pay for online multiplayer access. Also ultimate gets PC game pass, and cloud streaming while PC gamepass doesn't. On ultimate you can have multiple people play together on PC and console simultaneously on the same subscription, which is great for families.

I think an important thing for people to understand, as Matty alluded to, is that Xbox (and corporations at large) only care about “loyalty” insofar as it makes them money. They will not hesitate to do their customers dirty if it will maximize profit. We’ve seen it with studio closings and now with price increases. Such is the way of late-stage capitalism.

Crazy that they're being this bold when they're not bringing out any top tier First party games since the inception of Game Pass. Everything has been luke warm to a disappointment

it logically does not make sense to continue the sub. Just cancel your sub and when a game comes out you resub, that's $20, which is $50 less than just buying it outright. So realistically you'd come out only spending around $60-$80 a year if you sub and cancel when a game comes out you actually want.

''Xbox is fleecing gamers... And that's a good thing!''

- Matty probably.

Consoles get betrayed because your beholden to the console. As a PC user when Sony pulled some BS with Helldivers we uninstalled it, review bombed it and moved on.
