RIFT was so dang good, always saddens me how Trion killed it

A little bit of salt. Throne and Liberty open beta started off with almost 60k players, and held up to 30k players until sunday - which was when most guilds decided to call it off because there was no point in doing more progression, and archbosses (biggest world bosses / biggest PvPvE content) were done sunday as well. Playing past a certain point in that OBT was pointless; it's a grind game, after all. So it's expected the numbers to fall.

There were also a number of streamers who liked the game even though it came in possible the worst state ever (without counting the mobile fiasco at the start). Some are excited, some are not; most PvP related streamers liked the game, and the game already has a good following on Twitch. It's expected PvE or "flavor of the month" streamers will heavily dislike the game, as the progression is grindy.

Finally, I really expected to see the new mega patch that just WENT LIVE over Throne and Liberty. It basically changes everything in the game. Everyone who follows the game is extremely hyped about it, because it has a lot of QoL changes and combat changes (it's a lot less slow and less "zerg" based). Now a group of talented players can take down zergs (which, to be fair, has never been a good thing in MMORPGs), but they're still tuning the patch.

That said, it is understandable that you don't like/won't like the game (since it has p2w features, grind, etc). But it feels like you're just painting PvE MMORPGs as fun and PvP MMORPGs as bad, and as someone who enjoys PvP, I'd like to see more PvP MMORPG content.

Rift closing is going to hit me hard when it happens. I played it last when they released the Water expansion. Rift for the 1st 3 years of its life WAS BETTER THAN WOW. That’s why Wow stole so much (Scenarios, Transmog system AE looting, ect lol). Vanilla Rift PVP is the only MMO PVP I enjoyed. You could put together Builds just for running the Flag.

Why would they cancel a game that will launch next year? I am talking about archage2
They just released the roadmap for kakaogames and chrono odyssey and archage2 will launch both next year

What i would personally like to see in a new MMO is one with all the traditional class/character, gameplay, etc aspects but with of course a modern gfx engine coupled with the devs own ideas or twists on builds/skills/spells without trying something so different that they will fail by forgetting all about what makes an MMO an MMO. As someone whos been playing MMOs forever now i honestly think that devs and such truly dont take enough player feedback into consideration. I mean, theyre making a game "for the people" and when you listen to the people to a decent extent they will be more successful in a finished product as it will overall encompass what people are looking for in an MMO as a whole. Ive seen so many elements in countless games, particularly newer ones that they left out or botched such obvious key factors that comprise an MMO. Sometimes i seriously wonder if half the devs making games these days even played an MMO before attempting to make one. Im no dev or programmer by far but damn guys, stop and use your brains even a little bit when making decisions in the creation of an MMO. The past decade has seriously been lacking in overall quality and content pertaining to the MMO realm. There has been a "small" handful of good ones that have came out here and there but as we all know, not every game is for everyone. We just need something thats right there in the middle so a vast majority can play and have fun while enjoying what we have all known an MMO to be. All i can do is keep hoping

You can now play T&L guys. Ncsoft expanded the server and you can play in SEA region. Ofc NA/EU players can join in the hyper boost server to catch up with KR server.

Since you’re the guy I go to for any info on these games I have to ask. Do you remember the game that was announced that had warframes bullet jump mechanics? It kinda had the genshin art style and maybe tof combat style.

Mabinogi has a Growing Playerbase, atleast from what i've noticed in game. New players have been popping up and older players have been getting new players into the game, theres also been some Pretty big name Vtubers who have been sponsered by Mabinogi. Once Mabinogi Eternity launches i expect a huge influx of new players so long as nexon actually puts some effort into the Marketing for the game XD.

Thank you for another entertaining update! Watching the MMORPG industry one learns the importance of releasing something, ANYTHING, at some point. So I'm actually happy to see that Pantheon is going into Early Access. Even if it ultimately fails, at least they're getting something out to the public!
