Very good review Youthman, on my Anthem I have 2 profiles, one is for my 5.1 setup and the other one is for my music setup. I am glad that you liked the Anthem and ARC

I’ve had my MRX 1120 for over two years now and I simply love the performance this receiver can deliver.

Listening to Music at reference level is something special and watching movies in the ATMOS configuration is mind blowing to say the least.

Sure, spending $3500.00 dollars is a lot of money, but listening to the MRX 1120 brings pleasure to my ears every time I turn on my receiver.

This was a great review ! have the MRX 520, a baby compared to the 1120. I switched from a Marantz SR5008 and yes both receivers have a different sound after running a room correction. I think I like the Marantz a little better but I just purchased this receiver and I will be tweaking it as time goes on. I have to say this receiver has a nice punch when it come to playing music and movies with my Goldenear T-3 speakers.

I brought this unit after frying 2 Sony es units top of the line and a Marantz 8012 I believe. This unit is WOW it is powering 2 Axiom m100 rear surround 4 ohm and definitive technology surroundsound sides and four JBL height DTS-X.
This handle of my system with ease specially considering I am running 4ohm and 8 ohm speakers at the same time. When I go into my theater building it is literally a building outside the house and I put hell I listen to it for hours, and I do mean hours I might go to the room about 10 o’clock at night and go back into the house about seven in the morning and it was running the whole time cranked

Another great review, thanks! I have the MRX720 and I have been very happy with it. For me, ARC has been a game changer. I have a room that is acoustically terrible (it is in a shared space) and the ARC was a revelation compared to the Audyssey in my prior Denon receiver. The bass is so much tighter and the blend between the main channels and the sub is so smooth now. Having a far from ideal room (unlike yours) really shows how powerful ARC can be. I've heard Dirac is really great also (and possibly better).

I'm sold just on the included mic stand. Marantz, Denon, Yamaha, and Onkyo, please follow Anthem's lead and include a proper mic and stand with your top end products.

Great review again man! Awesome job on the commentary, all pertinent information. That is a great looking unit, love the design. Went to the Anthem website, and took a at the MRX 1120. Awesome amount of inputs, great features, and plenty of power! It is very versatile unit, which is great for me. I have a small home theater that also has to double as a music system. So all the input selections are a bonus for me. Take care, and keep up the excellent work!

I’m now leaning towards Anthem’s new 2021 AVR’s now. I can’t believe I didn’t look into Anthem sooner. The positive reviews on their previous gen AVR’s have been glowing. I just have to decide between the MRX 740 or the MRX 1140

Hi youthman, really would like to see an in depth tutorial on anthem mrx720 or 1120. I have been all over the internet and no one seems to show everything about setup. Not cabling, but the actual setup within the menus. The manual does not explain it in lame terms. So if you have no knowledge of any of this, then your kind of at a loss. I know it would be time consuming, but very much appreciated. Thank you

I like the part when you said it brought a smile to your face when your turned on The mrx 1120 with music you were familiar with. I had the same stupid grin on my face when I played my MRX 1120, well, that's what the girfriend said "what's with the grin?" if you turn it on and it raise the hair on your arms and behind your neck and makes you smile, you know its worst the $3500 price tag. Personally myself I heard much more expansive receivers in the $8-$10 K range and Anthem still was ahead(in my mind) could be biased but nevertheless I love my MRX 1120 and me too had incredible service from the Tech people at Anthem. you get to know the people and they get to know you on a person to person level and for me that it worth a lot.

If you have a chance, I'd like to have you thoughts on the Denon AVR-X8500H and compare it to the Anthem MRX-1120 in term of sound quality, EQ setup and general features. Although, I put more emphasis on sound quality and sound calibration then I do in features, but it's still good to know.

Thanks

Hi,
Can you tell me if we can configure the MRX 1120 in 6.2.2 (one surround back speaker instead of two + two rear Atmos on the ceiling and two subwoofer ) ?

Thank you Very much ! 😉👍🏽

Hi there. Anthem will be bringing new models next year...I like the looks and the 1140 which seems to be the only one that could do 4 atmos channels straight out of the box...I want to set up a 5.2.4 atmos system. If you had a chance to look at the specs, do you think the 1140 will be a lot better than the 1120? In case I find a gently used 1120 for sale? Is the 1120 upgradeable? Can it also run the latest ARC which is where the magic seems to happen? (I have a Denon with Audyssey and it's pretty good) - I just watched this video from 2018 and setting up ARC is very old school! Is the latest version easier to use? Can I run it straight from the receiver or I have to go thru a laptop? I like the look of the 1140 but it costs a pretty penny. Thanks

Hello I would your opinion on who makes the best receiver models, that played IMAX enhance, THX CINEMA certification and why?

Sony, Denon, Marantz, Pioneer, Yamaha, Anthem 720 etc.

I'm a fan of clean loud sound with great clarity and distinction when playing music between the instruments with be great stereo separation,

& on movies playing full Range Sound, clear vocals and great bass management with the ability to adjust sub settings easily.

Thank you for your time and knowledge and kindness have a great day!

I have the Anthem 1120 running a 5.1.4 Atmos system. My front speakers are Paradigm 85F and the rest of the speakers are Paradigm. Does it make good sense to add a separate amp to run the 85F's and use the Anthem to power the rest of the system. Thanks
