Laurence Fishburne Talks About Being Mistaken For Samuel L. Jackson

Entertainment and gossip sites were aflutter recently when KTLA reporter Sam Rubin made a faux pas while interviewing actor Samuel L. Jackson — he confused Jackson with fellow actor Laurence Fishburne.

Jackson gave Rubin an on-air roasting over the mix-up, but it turns out this sort of thing has happened before.

Indeed, in an April 2013 interview on George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight, Fishburne said people have been mixing up the two actors for two decades.

And Fishburne deals with it in a different way than Jackson... he plays along.

I really don't understand Samuel L. Jackson and Laurence Fishburne being mistaken for one another... They really don't look ANYTHING alike. I truly just don't understand, if someone told me they were brothers I would think that one of them had been adopted because they don't even remotely resemble each other. WTF people??

Fishburne's most unknown and underrated role is in 1992's _Deep Cover._ This film is also one of the most underrated films of all time. Just a superb film. Not quite a _Goodfellas, _ but it's in the ballpark.

Laurence, what a classy guy. Shows you that SLJ gets that confusion thing all the time. So he takes the opportunity on live TV to berate a guy for making a mistake. Not classy.
