How to Copy and Paste Text on Android in 2024

To copy and paste text on Android:
1. Navigate to the app or page that you want to copy text from.
2. Hold your finger down on the word(s) you want to copy.
3. To select additional text, drag the markers at the beginning and end of your highlighted selection. To select all text on the page, tap Select All in the pop-up menu.
4. Once you've highlighted the text you want to copy, tap Copy.
5. Navigate to the app or page where you want to paste the text.
7. Hold your finger down in the empty space in a text box to reveal a pop-up menu.
8. Tap Paste to paste your copied text.

Literally cannot copy & paste on my newest Android phone. The "copy & paste" menu doesn't pop up at all

It seems strange to me that there isn't an option for "select and copy" or that the process of selecting doesn't just automatically copy as part of the process. After all, the usual reason for selecting is to copy.

I cant copy & paste ....like i wanna select some text from a website but it dont even give me the blue color to even select the info i wanna copy. I know how to copy& paste its just that it wont allow me to select the text i want so i can copy....

Thanks for this help. But, i have texts with more than 500 lines. I want to select from first line to 300, not all lines. In Windows, we used shift key and moving cursor to select multiple long lines. How can i do this in android?

How can I change the order of the copy command? Cut is first on list of "drop downs" but sometimes it's 'Dictionary' and 'search in edge' neither one I ever use and I have to click 'more' to even see copy. I want copy to be first on list all the time ?
