I have a manual winding watch but its subdial is at 9:00. The reality is that the manual winding movement can be oriented so that the subdial can be anywhere on the face, not just 6:00. It would have been more accurate to say that typical manual winding mechanisms have a seconds subdial on the face, and on that particular watch, it's at 6:00.

As for manual winding watches, I wish more models were available. I love manual winding watches because I love the ritual of winding the watch every time I put it on. I love the sound of winding it too.

The subdial at 6 does not mean a watch is manually wound.
