I am April Lauren, I am a lifestyle vlogger here on YouTube. My channel grew as I started sharing my weight loss journey. I started at 352.8, miserable and at my highest weight ever. I knew I had to change, and I couldn't keep crash dieting and failing. I am halfway to my weight loss goal of losing 200lbs, and already my life is completely different. Slow and steady has worked for me, and I look forward to continuing my journey. Thanks for encouraging me along my weight loss journey.

Don't take any notice of the 'you did alright' or turtle pace jokes, you did amazingly well and should be very proud!

"You did alright" Holy crap!!! You did so much more than that. You did more than most of your followers could not do. Be proud girl!

Not everyone was raised with supportive and affirmative words. Role modelling is a crucial part of learning that skill. Her hubby filmed her entire race, that’s incredibly supportive. I’d take notice of actions, not only words.

He was also being very literal / truthful / ‘factual’. I think we have learned as a culture now that neurodivergence is real.

I'm literally crying watching this. I'm 2 days in to my running journey and all i do is fantasize about what it would be like to run free and without pain. You give me hope that one day it might be possible for me too. God bless you and thank you ❤

She DESERVED better support from her husband pre and post race. This was a HUGE thing for her...and he says "you did alright." This should have been a celebration, and he acted like she picked out a shower curtain at Walmart. A-hole.

Girl, you smashed it I know your husband is supposed to be your friend, but you deserved massive entusiastic YAY APPLAUSE after that. You inspired me. I just started my couch to 5 k !

April, this was awesome! I remember watching you walk that first 1 mile and cheering you on and admiring your courage to share. Seeing you run a 5k is just amazing! Congrats to you!!

I hope your husband is more supportive in private as he does not at all seem supportive on this video. I could be very wrong but he gives off the vibes of a guy that doesn't want his wife to succeed in her goals as she may change and realise she can do better. I hope I am wrong! Well done on your goals - you are absolutely smashing them and I for one am pumped for you! You did more than 'ok' - you did amazing!

I was 313(highest known) in Feb 2022 and as of yesterday weighed in at 264. I am excited to have found you. I'm older than you and trying to get my life back. I started walking and thank you for an honest documentation. I've been encouraged. I have 96lbs to lose to get to my goal but every moment is better the way I feel, move, my mind..its all improving. I'm so excited for you. Follow through on a 5k is not easy and you did great. Looking forward to more and I'll be sharing my 1st 5k since my 20's when I do it. Blessings

YOU DID THAT! 🎉
Soooo proud of you! 💖
Your dedication is so beautiful, celebrate this win!
You definitely did more than “alright”, I’m sure he didn’t mean anything by that to diminish your accomplishment.
Running the whole time is huge!
Running a 5k, losing nearly 100lbs, improving your physical and mental health is so incredible!
The scale can change for so many reasons, especially when you start training as hard as you are.
It’s okay to feel discouraged, I know I do sometimes, but you’re slaying it…stay the course💕
I’m cheering for you! 🎉

From a friend in Provo, Utah -I just wanna say, “You go girl!” I’ve been watching you these two years and I couldn’t be prouder. I need your husbands phone number so I can call and give him some advise on what to say when his wife asks him how he thinks she did. “You did freaking awesome, woman.” A honey should never pass an opportunity to tell his amazing sweetheart how awesome she did and how proud he is of her accomplishment. 😉
You inspire me April, me and many others. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Keep making each day a little brighter ❤️

I have literal tears. You were my constant companion during quarantine, I watched your videos and journey religiously! With the return to work, YouTube fell off of my radar and as I sit here this morning watching this I am amazed at all of the progress that you have made! I remember watching your first mile walk video and cheering you on from afar to keep putting one foot in front of the other, and here you are kicking ass at a 5k! Your dedication and determination are inspiring, and I am so proud of and inspired by how far you have come!
