How to open a digital safe when the battery is flat and the key does not work? This method takes less than a minute! Had I known this, I wouldn't have bought this type of safe! Now I have wrecked the safe.

I know this is an old video, but this video saved me a whole lot of aggrevation. We had our passports in a safe like this and we were getting ready to leave for the airport when we discovered that the safe battery was completely dead and we could not find the key. Did as instructed and opened it right up! Good lesson on cheap safes, we wil replace it with something a little more secure and non electronic.

I had about $4000 stashed in a safe like this....and was stressing to learn that the battery couldn't find the keys. Didn't take me a minute, more like 20 minutes, but eventually got it open using this brute force technique. For me, the key thingy couldn't come out, but I banged and banged..and the key thingy broke so I could rotate it, and by rotating it, it opened the door by affecting the mechanism behind it. Taught me a lesson today, do not keep $4000 in a $30 safe. Off to the bank I go. Thank you!

Thank you so much. My 9 year old might have thought I was mad, but I got in there in the end. My safe had an extra large ring around the key hole that I had to get around first. Just used a biggeR crowbar

thank you thank you after an hour faffing around with the key after watching this I was able to rescue my computer back ups and £500 cash in 4 seconds flat!
Guess I won't be buying another of these safes to replace it.

Just used your way - the battery was flat and the key I've been given with this 'safe' simply didn't match! Boy it was so easy to open it using hammer and a small ax! Thanks for showing it, till now I was under impression my stuff is safe in that box, man I would be suprised one day! Now I think how to improve what left from the safe - in general body of the safe won't be as easy to be forced, so if I rivet a piec of plate in the place of key hole covered by a padlock for future (if the battery is flat again) - should work

What if you want to open it and use it without causing damage ?
