Why can't restaurants pay their employees in America? Tipping is complimentary in rest of the world and is not enforced.

They can’t legally make you tip, because its under a tip and when you see the price of a meal and purchase it, that actually becomes a contract. Forcing them to “tip” is basically raising the price on them when they already purchased the price without the tip. Politely ask them to let you not tip, if they don’t let you. file a lawsuit for breach of contract.

For those who got confused (like myself) he must have said that wrong. When he said someone covered up the tipping option, he meant to say someone covered up the option to not tip.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: TIPS WERE ALWAYS MEANT TO BE OPTIONAL!!!!

Tipping wasn't even really supposed to be something included on the bill! It was always meant to give the person giving the service a small bonus for doing a good job. This issue is getting out of hand, and it needs to get more attention.

I think we need to start up #stoptipculture . Get people talking about this!
