Because rich people always look for ways to spend their money

... and poor people look for ways to feel rich

Companies don't charge what it costs them to make... they charge the maximum people are willing to pay.

The answer is in the title ‘LUXURY’ designer brand, it’s not meant for everyone

They wouldn’t be able to call themselves luxury if they didn’t charge a lot, luxury gotta be exclusive and the best way for a company to profit from exclusivity is to charge more

You're paying for the BRAND NAME so your ego can feel better.

High price doesn’t always mean high quality.

It’s about the Haves and Have Nots... People treat you different if you are wearing or carrying an expensive wallet/bag. It’s just the world we live in. Sad but true.

"Luxury goods" aren't even luxe anymore. They're just expensive.
The quality has been lost in their profit-chasing.

Brands like Burberry needs to up the quality before they up the price...as we all know that 80% of their products are cheaply made in China...you can't pretend to be luxury if you manufacture cheap and keep a chain of outlet stores worldwide. Burning the merchandise proves that its cheaply made and cost next to nothing for the company to get on the shelves.

For the most part I love Luxury, but I do not buy luxury clothes..
As a woman I buy just luxury handbags and shoes coz those are statement pieces, it adds more class to your outfit, makes you stand out and feel elegant..

I prefer to have fewer items in my closet that would last me a life time than have a lot of junk cheap items with less quality..🤷🏻‍♀️
Just me though..

Answer: Because the manufacturers know that some people are willing to pay exorbitant prices for something in order to feel better than others.

I love good brands for their uniqueness and especially quality (longevity). You don’t need to buy Hermes, LV and Burberry. I don’t like fast fashion and clothes that damage easy therefore,
I try go for the middle ground especially during sales, Tommy Hilfiger, Allsaints, Ralph Lauren, True Religion, occasionally Versace Couture and Moschino. I’ve gotten some big brands for 70% off and even more! I love a bargain 😅

LMAO it's definately NOT about the quality.. I still have plenty of t shirts that cost me like 5 dollars from 20 years ago and they still could be worn. No t shirt is worth 500$

You totally ignored the biggest factor:
luxury pays WAY more in RENT, security & overhead,
since their boutiques are in wealthy, expensive areas.

I just saw Christan Dior Sneakers that look exactly like modern day Chuck Taylor's. Then you realize some git is going to buy that.

4:40 Whether you regard these brands as overpriced, or worth buying is completely your choice. If you’re willing to pay top dollar for an item and you enjoy wearing it, then no one can tell you it wasn’t worth it.

As a business owner this is how it goes. You push the price onto the customer to cover your expenses. Bests ones that do this are restaurants.

Similarly to “fast food” you’re not paying for the actual food you’re paying for the convenience. With luxury brands you’re not paying for the actual clothes you’re paying for the exclusivity and attention.
