I wouldn’t buy the classic LV bag bc most people assume it’s fake anyway and I experienced a few uncomfortable situations but if someone likes LV this seems like a good option

Your first bag should suit you and how you live. There is no universal best first bag. If you aren't a cross body gal, the bandoliere won't suit you. If you aren't a top handle girl, a lady Dior type won't suit you... If you are hard on your bags, don't get a delicate leather. It's a very individual thing. I do agree on the trend bag, unless like me you wait until the trend is over and get it cheap ;-D

First big bag I ever bought was an LV Speedy 25 in 1994. I still use it incessantly. I'd also suggest a Longchamps tote.

I was going to get a LV but the insanely soft leather on a black and gold Givenchy bag with a braided strap was way more my style. 15 years later and I’m so glad I did. Big flashy labels/brands aren’t my thing now and my Givenchy is still buttery soft.

That was my first bag. HS grad present from my godmother in 1977! That bag was so good at the time I felt like that’s all I needed. Got some luggage after that & a Coach bag for work later on. Still my fav ❤

What about applying only one rule: that you really love the bag you get? Fashion is about feeling and uniqueness, not about getting a good resale price. That louis vuitton bag looks so plain, it looks like a replica.

The speedy was my first designer bag. I wanted it as it was designed for Audrey Hepburn. I chose the Damier Ebene as that was the original design.

Longchamp. It's durable, most stains can be taken off, it can be packed away ( folded) .
