As a previous runner, people don’t understand how brutal and challenging running can be. The man in the video likely is eating much more than the average person. Since he’s a marathon runner he’s probably burning at least 1k calories from training alone (rough estimate might be higher). Everyone’s got different goals and strengths. A bodybuilder could lift more weight than a runner but could not come close to the same level of a runner aerobically. Same goes viste versa.

This guy is an actual peak athlete, and you've got a bunch of goobers who think they know better than him because they have a gym membership.

Ex-obesse person here: I like to running and I'm going to the gym. I just noticed how I'm becoming a skinny person. Some friends just make fun of me (They're fat-asses), but I can run around 27km without stopping. At the gym, I see a lot of people with really poor physical conditions, they only do cardio before training, but I can go to the gym and then run 10km the same day. I'm very proud of myself, I was in a really bad shape 5 years ago.

"your bf is skinny"

bro he trains legs and cardio at the same time. two things that put fear in the mind of the insecure ego lifter.

Telling a marathon runner that they shouldn't be skinny is like telling a basketball player that they shouldn't be tall lmao

The only muscle that matters is the heart, and this guy has got a healthier heart than a hundred bodybuilders.

This is why comments on social media are so dumb. People dont have a brain or their own opinion, they just jump to agree with whatever people in the comments are already saying. And most of the time, its just comments meant to bring others down so these regular joes in the comments can feel better about themselves. It baffles me that the first thing people wanna do when someone is improving themselves is to try to bring them down a notch, instead of congratulate or motivate

The magic of sport lies in the enormous variety of possibilities that exist to be in shape depending on your physical faculties. All those people who go to a gym just to look good, feel happy in front of a mirror and belittle the effort of others will never stop being potential cowards incapable of facing real challenges.

The beauty of a gymnast's performance the physical power of a weightlifter the technical prowess of a soccer player, the effort of a heptathlon runner even the innate talent of a chess player. Everything deserves the same respect

It’s weird because this type of body should naturally be more attractive to females than big muscles.

This is how we hunted as humans, we didn’t wrestle bears, we just ran down a zebra for 2 hours until it drops from exhaustion.
So the natural selection should be primed towards this type of athletic body being more attractive.

The boy is surely in better condition and health than those who tell him those things. I congratulate him for his process ❤

As Arcdelio said, everyone trains for a specific athletic goal and modifies their body, for example running or martial artists, this is a level of stupidity where they would also make fun of a sumo wrestler because he has too much body fat

It's remarkable that almost everyone in the gym is training for aesthetics. The idea that an athlete goes to gym or trains to improve performance in a particular discipline has become so incredibly alien to people. As a sprinter, I think I look pretty athletic and decent, I'm really not interested in 'everyday upper-body day' guys telling me I need to focus more on my biceps.

My story: I was training almost 10 years at the gym, exactly powerlifting. 195cm and almost 110kg not super shredded but I think pretty good looking. Now it's almost 5 years when I got bored with the gym and started running. It's harder but also more fun - better events, more opportunities to travel etc. But although I'm still almost 95kg I hear all this years how good I looked and now I look like shit.💀
