Pre-Algebra Lesson #46 Finding the Mean, Median, and Mode

In this lesson, we will learn how to find the mean, median, and mode for a group of numbers. To find the average or the mean, we simply divide the sum of numbers by the number of numbers in the group. The median is found using a simple formula. We first arrange the numbers in the group from least to greatest, the median is the middle number when the group has an odd number of numbers or the average of the two middle numbers when the group contains an even number of numbers. The mode is simply the number or number that occurs most often in the group of numbers.
