Great vid Dustin I didn't have to remove my tub filler spout. I just laid on my back with a headlamp. I took a flat blade screwdriver from underneath and splayed the nylon latch-fingers apart and pulled up on the diverter knob on top of the tub filler. The nylon part with the diverter rubber washer seal slid down and out the bottom of the spout. I replaced the washer with a Draco "TUB SPOUT DIVERTER REPAIR KIT" from depot. I just used the NEW rubber washer seal and re-used the other original parts; lift rod and nylon diverter gate. My old rubber washer seal had a notch out of it.

Thanks Dustin! I recently moved into a new house that needs some small improvements, including this. Followed your instructions and now no more water coming from the spout when pulling up the lever!

My copper pipe was much longer than the one you showed in the video, so I just needed to screw the spout on directly. Hopefully I didn’t miss anything but will keep the spare parts just in case.
