Thank you, sir. I was having a hell of a time trying to figure out how to get that thing off.

Spout won't budge? Try running hot water through it for a while and then a little really cold water. It worked for me!

Thanks for this video, all the others were for the spout with the screw but ours is the old school one, had no idea it was that easy remove

Mine juat fell off and I can't get it back on. There's an extension piece on the pipe, I wrapped the tape 3x, and a plate that fits against the wall. Goes on without the plate, but ccrooked, but not at all with. Should I just buy a new one?

Is it the same as this shower valve ? (without the diveter vavle) If it is the diverter needs to be changed..( I have a video of that) if it is the other "style" that has the diverter built into the spout the kind you pull up or push down to make it go to the shower head then yes you will need to replace the spout as diverter is not properly sealing anymore. Might be more information on the website.. link is in the description.

Thanks for the video helped alot. I had the screw on type wouldn't budge with pipe wrench. I looked up in the end of spout and saw threads. I fired up the propane torch and put a little heat up the spout on to threads came loose with hardly any effort.

I have water dripping out my tub's spout, when I'm showering. Do you have any advice on what I should do, in order to stop it and redirect it to the shower head? I'm wondering if I need to replace the spout...

Thank you for this quick simple video. My diverter stopped working and I did not know how to get the spout off to change it out. However, I had an old showerhead on hand with a shut-off and I simply screwed it onto the spout pipe and I've got water coming back up to my regular showerhead! I'm not even going to replace the spout; just going to leave the old showerhead on it 'cause it looks cool and saves me money.

My Symmons shower mixing valve (c 1970s) appears fine when disassembled, but I cannot get hot water. The cold water comes through fine. I have checked the hot water supply and it certainly gets to the mixing valve. What am I missing? Thanks.

What do you recommend if the spout comes off, but the copper collar is stuck to the cast iron (galvanized) pipe? There's some rust on the pipe. That was the case with mine. I put WD-40 on it, but it's still frozen. I don't want to turn it too hard because the pipe might snap off altogether. I was thinking of using a hand-held propane torch to apply some heat to it, but not sure if it's a good idea or not.

The copper pipe from the wall is either too long or two short for the spouts I've bought.  Should I just cut it and buy a spout that pushes on?  If so, how do I cut it and at what length should I cut it?

Any tips for me. When I put my new spout on I have plenty of tape but water still is leaking out then side of the spout by the wall

Hi! Thank you for sharing this video. When I removed the spout the inner tube came along with it. It's completely rusted into the spout. Tried unscrewing it but it won't come off. Any idea how to remove it?

How come you didn't caulk it? That would prevent water from reaching the copper pipe and wall so it wouldn't corrode and stain.

so how the hell do you get the shower on now

Did you have to turn off the main water line first?

I hate watching videos where they have no problem unscrewing it. I can't unscrew mine and I don't want to push too hard or I could break the pipe. I can't get PB Blaster inside it. So I'm going to try a blow torch next to expand the metal. If that doesn't work I'll try sawing it off. Has anyone had luck with blow torches or saws?
