Why is it so many of the soft boy characters are also like…. Tyrants or have killed thousands of people and committed war crimes??? And the webtoon just kindof glosses over this?? And it’s just like he’s better now??? 💀💀💀

I despise how every male character in every comic ever has full abs and pecs even if they never exercise a day in their life. Even if they're made out to be explicitly lazy. They are still ripped.

the whole "using sexual assault purely so the love interest can save the main character" is something ive seen in a lot of different media, but particularly in fan fiction, and its always annoyed the shit out of me. its so gross to use any sort of traumatic experience like that as a plot device for drama. especially since SO often, the main character immediately gets over it, and its completely forgotten about within a few chapters or episodes. as if real people with trauma can just do that. it should be treated with the serious and respectful tone it deserves, or it just shouldnt be used.

as a male SA/rape victim the rapist characters piss me off so much like, what is that point of having them in there just to push plot or just for shock value and just fans pushing it off because the character is 'hot' or 'attractive'

I have always always hated the rapist trope, it's especially bad in bl manga and in some korean or chinese manhua it's always turned around to be the woman's fault and she just has to deal with it. It's so fucking vile.

Honestly I wish that stories would actually just make the 2 romantic rivals both good people but have different personality traits that make them attractive and unattractive so it actually makes it hard to choose.
Also for both of them to have different designs from one another, not just a bootleg off of each other.

Outside of romance, The Strongest Florist is a really good version of a soft boy. He is basically a swol man that is mistaken as a thug, but really just wants to run a flower shop

Dude, i say this as a webcomic author as well as a POC. I was so happy the first time i saw the princess's jewels and saw a poc male lead...only to see this man being turned into her sex toy and pillow....i think that was the first time i thought as a woman as a bicycle. one of my fears as a writer is to have one dimensional characters just for the story line and then it doesnt even make sense...God help all the young ladies reading such comic and their minds are being shaped by them as this being OK behavior

Idk if most people would agree.

But if writers want to add in such heavy topic like assault/sa, and handle it with care most sa assaults are done by men that were close to the survivor. Perhaps developing the male character into gaining the trust of the female one before breaking it with something so traumatic, show a more realistic representation of the heavy situations like that.
