Toyota 2AZ-FE 2.4-liter Engine - Interference Or Non-Interference? Camry RAV4 Highlander Scion TC

Показать описание
Interference means if the valve timing is off, the valves can come in contact with the pistons, potentially causing catastrophic damage to the engine. Non-interference means that the valves can never come in contact with the pistons. Most timing belt engines are non-interference because of the very real chance that the belt can break. Timing chain engines on the other hand tend to be interference engines. The 2.4-liter 2AZ-FE is one of the first generation of Toyota timing chain engines. Which is it? Interference? Or non? Watch this video to find out.

Great video and often wondered. work on these engines alot out fleet has a bunch of 2009 camry hybrid, the city normaly only buys american cars but in 2008 the gas crisis and the economy made them buy toyotas for only one year Anyway long story short we dont have any other fords or chevys left in the fleet from 2009 and not with 200k on them and almost no maintenanc needed but oil serivice. I think the crown vics would make it and the chevy vans too but the camry 2.4 seems to make it with no maintenance aside from the water pump as far as engine goes the engine goes...

Is the 1az interference as well or do they not hit considering it has a shorter stroke/less liters

I bought a Camry Hybrid for 700 dollars. It needs an engine. Chain is broken. So you know what it did to all the valves. It would be better to just buy another engine rather than try to fix it.
