Berrymans B12 piston soak procedure before every oil change, 5$.. Run 5w-30. It works, blow by measured with oil amount from oil catch can in line on the pcv hose.
My oil consumption drops every slightly every oil change.
Also sooner intervals due to higher oil degradation.

Cheaper and easier than a swap. Who cares if you still use a little oil it's an older car and beats a car payment.

Nice. My scion just took a crap on me. Kinda figured it was coming though. I added a quart every 250 miles also and I had been doing it for a year and a half. Just died at 220k miles. Toyota even told me that they are notorious for this problem and just keep adding oil. This video is JUST what I needed to confirm my next move. Thanks bro. Good video

I have a 2008 toyota Rav 4 with the same motor same issue, but my sister used to own it and it’s on its second used engine that’s had the consumption problem from the beginning, that’s why I am hesitant to put another used engine, but hopefully a JDM engine would be guarenteed not to have the issue ?

My dad's car (09 xrs) is chugging oil so I'm going to try to unstick the rings and get consumption down but I'll definitely be considering a jdm engine if it's that easy to swap.

Doesn't the rebuild with the toyota kit fix the issue though? With the replacement aren't you still going to have this issue happen again?

Just ordered a JDM engine and installed into my 2008 RAV4, The engine started but has a loud knocking noise and I think it needs new valve buckets. I have tried to contact the seller and no return.
