I have pencil envy!😂 So nice of you to compare colors between brands. I’m telling myself that I have colors close enough.😅 I love the lightfast turquoise green and Caran D’ache anthraqinoide pink (spelling) so much. It helps a lot to buy open stock. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful colored pencils. 💕

Love your comparisons. Very informative. Just a little information for you: sanguine is pronounced with a hard "g". It"s a French word that derives from the latin sanguis meaning blood. Thanks again for your great videos.

The Derwent Drawing set color selection is just perfect.
Would've bought it if I did not already have had all the other ones.

Ok YouTube glitching killed my mood and I’ve already written about this FOUR times for it to disappear 🫥 while I’m still in the typing process.. so I’m making this a bit short. I mean no disrespect I am just trying to be helpful and not at all to come off pretentious. Ok fifth times a charm !! I normally use very simple correct grammar and punctuation however… chica ain’t got no time nor patience for nadaaa. Lol 😂. I love your channel and that I found it! Take THAT YouTube algorithm 😝😝!! Seriously how does that person STILL have a job? Lol 😂 ahh I digress. Ok so new subscriber and viewer. So excuse my limited knowledge of your art journey and education. I noticed a few things that may be helpful for you to consider when you make content or just make art. So bc I’ve written this basically in MLA format 4x (minus page numbers, cover page and work cited pages) THIS time I’m not even notating correctly.

Nope instead it’ll be just •
So as I’m watching you were talking about your hand hurting you, the pencils not performing as you want them to and I may have a few things to help? I am getting all of my information from reputable sources either through my actual contact with the doctor or my personal 👀 and 👂 from an art professor/teacher. This will be slightly lengthy and I apologize for that. It’s art and I have to verbally explain instead of physically explaining. And that means lots of words lol. 😂

Ok. So your hand placement on the pencil..
•for the lightest pressure possible hold the pencil near the end and hold it loosely. Let your wrist and then the hand help with control.
•the more pressure the closer and more grip you have on the pencil. That will save your hand sooo much!! And it helps immensely with your technique and what’s being put down on the paper. (I learned that in a Contour drawing class and it was the worst art experiences I’ve had to date. I am blind in one eye 👁️ and learning the Lumis method isn’t possible for someone who doesn’t HAVE depth perception! But my professor stressed to me that it was the ONLY WAY to do art right. I would have failed her class bc of a birth defect and her lack of knowledge about her own profession! 🙄 I stopped drawing for years bc of that class. And that damn stool!!!! lol. I guess I’m superwoman and my kryptonite is; contour drawing, The Lumis Method and AN ART STOOL! 😂 but I’m old so no one needs to worry about getting a professor like that. She was fired years ago. I wonder why 🤔)

•I think it’s wonderful that you’re showing the comparisons between the different types of pencils and how they perform. The thing is that they perform differently on different kinds of papers.
• (predominantly) oil based pencils and wax pencils are used in different ways. So what a Derwent Pencil would look best on will differ from what a Faber Castell Polychromos pencil would look on the same paper.
•oil based pencils best papers
•100% cotton watercolor paper -140 lbs i find best personally but anything lower also isn’t very cost friendly so might as well get the thicker paper. No need for 300gsm or anything like that but if you want to, go for it. Also just using VERY expensive paper, made more expensive bc of its thickness but is unnecessary for the job itself. Save money where you can. Prices on art supplies are only going up in 2025 I already got emails from my fav mom n pop place back home about the price increase 🙄. Art companies acting like organized crime… think about it lol. Seriously it’s the most common criminal marketplace in this world and it’s not even remotely illegal FOR THEM. AND yet they got John Gotti aka ‘The Teflon Don’ for racketeering and drug charges. But, Holbein sells the US their STUDENT GRADED ART SUPPLIES AND ADVERTISE THEM AS THEIR BEST PAINTS. Ya ever seen Scarface ? Pretend the ‘flower’ is pigment … am I 💡 anyone? lol 😂 ok I’ll stop 🛑 but fr if YOURE buying Holbein watercolor paints MAKE SURE YOU BUY FROM OUTSIDE THE US! Or from a company that sells their other grades. They’re A-F, reverse order of quality. I used a VPN n used japans YouTube and someone on there showed how they bought their grades for their classes, ALL ‘A’ graded which is ALL you’ll find at Jerry’s, Blick etc. unless you can see on the tube written A-F you 💯 have student grade expensive paint! I found aliexpress actually has great deals and they sell the B, C grades. Even China doesn’t get the BEST products but they’re not the US. I’m not being a racist I’m just saying a company in another country is selling their 💩 and wanting us to call it caviar. It happens to not be in the US (which I’m surprised by that’s totally an American thing to do lol) . But if I offended anyone I deeply deeply apologize for upsetting anyone.
•my preferred is hot pressed which is smooth. It has a lot of tooth but not much visible ‘texture’ and it takes up a lot of time getting full opacity with cold pressed cotton paper without OMS. And colored pencil already is very time consuming. Am I right?! Who else has one drawn cherry 🍒 and the rest of the page is empty 🙋🏻‍♀️bc ADD meds only last like 5/6 hrs lol 😂?
•pastel paperor pastel board which has a sanded finish to allow you to layer those baby’s to the high Heavens! 😂 the paper WILL make you run out of your pencils faster than regular paper. But, the pay off, color pay off is 🤩 🥰 magnifiques! And what is more fun than buying art supplies?! lol
•Bristol vellum it has just the right amount of tooth to hold the layering but no water soluble or watercolor pencils on this paper. Way too thin
•specific type of mixed media paper by Canson - Canson XL dry mixed media ‘sanded’ is a great cheaper alternative to the Pastelmatte and other brands like that.
•my whole thesis statement is; you do a great job comparing the products and the differences. It’s also fun to watch and you have a soothing voice 😊. It may be more beneficial for you than anyone else to see what those products are capable of doing with the products you paid so much for but don’t love. Jackson’s does sample paper packs like crazy. And I can only imagine in store sales. Will Cass art supplies ever sell overseas again?! Anyone know ? I know it’s random. Their website says they have and they lieeee lol 😂

I finished without it disappearing I hope SOMEONE reads this thing it took forever. YouTube glitches grr. Sorry can’t spell check. Not a complete idiot but not a Sheldon either 😉 👋🏻
