I am half-Bulgarian, I and some of my Russian and Serbian acquaintances can understand each other just fine depending on the words we speak.

A topic worth of covering would be, how much is Russian influenced by Old Church Slavonic, largely based on Old Bulgarian itself.

I love the two languages. Slavic languages sound truly beautiful, I've been learning a little bit of Russian and I want to learn Bulgarian from now on, they're complex languages but accessible. I speak English and Spanish as my primary languages, and I've been so keen on learning different languages just for the sake of it. Peace and love to everyone. ❤

Russian is one of my native tongues, I see a lot of similarities with Bulgarian as well as some unusual differences.

Bulgarian actually has 2 types of counting system - ''числителна бройна'' and ''числителна редна''
The ''числителна бройна'' like in the video starts from ''едно, две'' while ''числителна редна'' starts like how Russian and rest of Slavic languages count - ''един, два''

Those two 2 languages in text should not be confused. The first thing is look out the "ъ" can be place between consonants is common.
Secondly the grammar, if the many or every words appeared to be nominative, prefix like та or ата. You probably read in Bulgarian text.

In other hands, If you see the letters: ё ы э, "ь" come after consonant often and may also come before е ё ю я and after consonant. You probably read in Russian text.

For me as a Russian, the bulgarian text was understandable, except for the first part "защото Бог толкоз обикна света".
