In the Serbian language, there are many expressions for various types of fruit sweets - "џем", "мармелада", "пекмез", "слатко". For a pumpkin, the term "бундева" is also used. Greetings to the Eastern Slavs.

Watermelon is "Karpuz" and Melon is "Kavun" in Turkish. ıt's a little bit of sliding.

I wish Belarusian don't disappear.

If I were Belarusian, I will defend the language at least to be taught in school and all the country's services to be provided in Belarusian first and after in Russian.

If I were from Russian family which lives in Belarus, I would speak Russian at home, but speak Belarusian outside to show respect the country. It can give me the chance to learn a new language.

I think It's the same with Portuguese and Spanish. We can get around, but it's much interesting to learn a new language. How people from these two express language is different. We can nor fully understand each other.

In Serbian, more common name for "pumpkin" is "bundeva". "Tikva" is used, but is a bit archaic. He just said it because he felt like an outsider 🤣

It is incredible how language of the same family can be different sometimes. Slavic languages are very rich. It will be interesting to see the comparison with languages like Bulgaria and Macedonian.
