Why hasn’t proxmox made it more accessible to pass-through your gpu in the gui?

Dude, this is huge, I was able to pass 6th gen igpu to privileged lxc container.
I just wish it not to be that fiddly

Cool video! I am using the Tesla P4 for my ProxMox 8.0.6 which is working great for my VMs. I am using the Resource Mappings in the Datacenter to manage the PCI devices for the VMs.

I'm really glad to see this, that's very promising as I'm tired of using LXC containers when I need to pass the GPU for encoding. But I would probably wait until this lands in the mainline kernel.

Would love to use this but I'm on AMD for the first thing and more importantly - if a minor change issued by Proxmox is going to break it then it's honestly not ready for any use other than on a dedicated machine to do this.

The key point to me is - as it's clearly possible, either QEMU or Proxmox (both?) need to get their fingers out and make this part of the core product. It would solve my Jellyfin transcoding gap and general remote GUI usage.

And yes, more Proxmox - I moved over after 10 yrs on virtualbox and it's streets ahead - ZFS and HA out of the box - awesome stuff.

I started watching for the Pi Hosted stuff but now I am way more interested in Proxmox. I ended up building a home lab running Proxmox with a Tesla P40 after watching your video about the M40. It has been great for LLMs and I next want to use Frigate with the GPU for home security image recognition.

just built my first proxmox server along with a unraid box for a nas. Probably could have put both on the same machine but since both were the first time for me I wanted to do them as 2 separate devices. I thought I was already subbed but watch u all the time. I would love to see more proxmox or unraid content. Also you used to do a lot of RPI stuff and now RPI 5 is out and available would love to see content around it. Thanks a lot.

Excellent video, but I'll wait for this to be in the release version.
I've been using virtualization for 20 years, but I just started with Proxmox this year, when I needed it to support the i226-V NICs in my new router PC (for pfSense CE).
For now, I use Wake-On-LAN to boot a separate PC for GPU support.
I still haven't looked into why my pfSense doesn't give network access after a power failure. I always have to reboot the VM.
