2016 to 2019 was peak K-Pop. With as many controversies as there are these days...K-Pop isn't fun anymore and now music shows are dying too.

I miss the 2nd and 3rd gen performances. Everything was more fun and engaging. The encores were also about the groups just having fun, celebrating their win, engaging with the audience, etc. and they didn’t just stand awkwardly while trying to sing. Music shows have gone downhill a lot and it’s a shame

How surprising that big 4 stans have an issue with a small company group like ATEEZ winning something. Work did well, and considering our KR fanbase is very small and most of the streaming is done by international fans, we worked hard for those 19 points. Also the way the digital scoring is complained has something to do with the SK market. The more they stream on SK platforms, the better the digitals.

I like AESPA, but I'm happy we helped ATEEZ get their 2 trophies. To me, we show ATEEZ we appreciate their hard work and creativity. Its like a gift to them and I'm happy I helped to secure that gift.

Money and power corrupt: it's the oldest story. You just have to hope not too many dreams of upcoming and deserving idols get ruined by corruption.

The problem is, too many groups but less talented. Cant even sing live.

I also believe the kpop craze definitely dwindled down after 3rd gen, you can constantly see a decline in views in sales in overall groups. Instead of a kpop obsession, it just became a generalized standard of music

My problem with today's kpop is that they went the western route and they've lost their identity

being a group from a big 4 company is itself a huge privilege tho.
Sm or hybe stans don't have to mass stream a song on every platform possible or even voting bc the digitals will ALWAYS be high despite the song being good or no.

Why? Because those big company fans will ALWAYS tune in their favorite companies' groups, no matter what the music quality is

Groups from smaller companies have to work their ass off every comeback promoting their songs on every variety show they attend, and knowing that if this exact same song by this smaller company group was given to any big 4 company it would've get way more popular.

Hate this genre of privilege even if it's not the groups' fault. I'm sick of seeing my idols not getting as much as love and appreciation they deserve

Seriously, these music shows need to learn how to be fair, our precious idols are not overworking themselves this hard just to have there scores get manipulated by these jerks.

everything on kpop started to go downhill after 2017. i’ve been a kpop stan since 2010 so it’s been like 14 years now, and the best era of kpop was 2010-2014, not because i’ve been a stan since then, but because we had actual singers with great music and no other big deal. things started to change after 2015 cuz that’s when kpop got recognized internationally and looking at today’s kpop, you all know what happened after that 🤷🏻

4:28 in the US we call that Payola. It is really frowned upon although they use this method to claim that no monies are being exchanged.

I love YouTube, I’m from America and the music scene her is just HORRIBLE so seeing kpop shows uploading their music shows brings me joy tbh

Kpop is overly saturated and repetitive. Not only has it become sexualized but it’s difficult to distinguish one group from another. It has gotten very mundane.

Of course only when there is something is going on that is not in ateez their favor this channel talks about them. But what about the amazing big things they are doing like coachella and mawazine? Literally silence about those
