When you're paranoid and insecure, your mind can twist everything around into something bad

Some person: "Hey."
Anna: "DEHUMANIZING"

I’m imagining a sweet elderly woman, vibing, wishing people well, sitting on the side of the trail, thinking she made Anna’s day.

Imagine having such an internalized victim complex that you can’t even enjoy another human reaching out and trying to connect and make your day brighter. Even if you don’t agree with the compliment you can appreciate the effort… but not when you live in this mental prison ..

Notice how Anna created an entire story and narrative with deep seated motivations that she 100% believed this woman had but all of it was completely assumed based on Anna’s own insecure perceptions of herself. If she had instead had a conversation with the person who complimented her she might have had a different perception but it’s these toxic narratives that people run around with and injecting into every interaction they have that are running their own lives.

I’m questioning if this even happened to her. Yes, I’m lie shaming.

“It felt really bad, I was already having a bad day.”
Got it. You can’t emotionally regulate yourself so you’re expecting us to do it for you.

It’s perfectly logical to assume that a 500lbs woman doesn’t work out or run at all. Anyone seeing her would think she has literally just started trying to lose weight. Because she hasn’t lost more than 50lbs last year and is now regaining.

I'm at a new gym, and I like to dance between sets.... Well this muscle momma comes over and says: " I love your moves, keep it up!" I thanked her... We go at the same tame and we started with "Hi's" and playlists to dance to... and now we are gym buddies! she spots me, and when I can I spot her (she lifts really heavy). Anna and her lack of confidence with her forever victim mentality just missed making a trail buddy.

That woman is unhinged, entitled, and bratty. The way she started grabbing everything in Target is maddening

I hike with my toddler on my back. Every single hike numerous people compliment me and tell me I'm doing a good job. They're being nice and acknowledging the work, no one needs to cry about it. But I'm fit and don't have the victim mindset so maybe that's the difference

For someone telling people not to judge what they don’t know….she sure is judging this unknown person’s intentions hard…

One of my fondest memories of hitting the gym as a fat guy with my dad was when this big buff dude comes up to us just after I finished a set with those rope things that you swing up and down. He told me he was proud of me and that I was doing a good job and to keep it up. I had never met him before in my life, but that shit felt good, and I appreciated it a lot. I don't understand how someone giving you props and encouragement could be seen as a bad thing.

I’ve run whilst fat and whilst fit and got the same “good job” comments. I think she’s reading way too much into it

Before I lost 180lbs, when morbidly obese I was very sensitive to any acknowledgement that I was fat. I was not fat/body positive & I wanted to get rid of that fat.

I find it weird that someone that's SO body/fat positive is just as insensitive to a COMPLIMENT about what she's doing with her body. Where did that loud pride go?

As a member of the ‘running community’ (I mean I guess runners are a community) I am always telling people I pass who are out there running ‘good job’ etc and I get the same back. Running is hard, it’s honestly just innocent support. She needs to settle down.

I went on a hike with my two year old… an old woman walks by with her old man husband.. “way to get out there today” they say laughing as I struggle… I said “yeah can’t you tell I’m having the time of my life” we all laughed and went on our way! Hope this helps Anna 😊
