And never, I repeat, never put hydraulic oil in a master brake cylinder. I did that, I end up spending over $100 to replace the thing in my IH pick-up truck. Enough said.

Scotty, this doesn't apply to DOT 5 fluid, but I doubt any cars use it. Harleys used it for many years, but switched to DOT 4 for ABS. (And you can't mix DOT 5 with the others.)

Small vents? Then why is there a rubber bladder under the cap that moves with the pressure changes. Scotty your automotive knowledge is vast but in my opinion I think you may have this one wrong.

Old unused brake fluid is better than no or low fluid in a pinch !

I'm as tight as you get. I just heat the fluid to 100C for half an hour which evaporates the water and then use the old fluid.

Old brake fluid makes great paint stripper. Nasty on hands so wear gloves

I learned the hard way and had to get my ABS unit reprogrammed... not sure if it was the heat soak from the engine or brake fluid but the car is 20 years old... it's not original brake fluid at least but it could have been 8 years old

My bleeders say I can't do a fluid change unless I buy new calipers or chance it and buy bleeder screws after I break them off and drill them out
