Показать описание
Explore the profound prophecy and the humanity of Jesus as he wept over Jerusalem's fate on the Mount of Olives.
=====================
TRANSCRIPT:
The Bible says when Jesus was coming down the Mount of Olives, he beheld Jerusalem and he wept over the city. And he began to prophesy, saying, because you missed your hour of visitation, the temple will be torn down so much so not one stone will be left on top of another. And that's actually what happened. Just 40 years after Jesus made that prophetic statement, the Romans, responding to a revolt of the Jewish people, tore the temple down, raised the city, and killed many Jewish people in the process.
When Jesus was coming down the Mount of Olives, towards his crucifixion, he was weeping over those that would have to endure that time. It's just a beautiful moment in Scripture that in the midst of a whole worship procession, and people shouting, Hosanna, here's Jesus weeping over a city that missed its Messiah, that was going to endure hardship. We see the humanity of Jesus wishing better for those that he loves.

📖 SCRIPTURE: [Luke 19:41-44] As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it 42 and said, “If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes.43 The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side.44 They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God’s coming to you.”
