Best breed ever! Love our 10 month old pup. She has made me get and stay active. My only advice is make sure you can RUN them sometime. Walks are great but they really need to open up and run. Even if its a backyard game of fetch. They need to be able to full sprint to stay flexible and wear them out!

my younger sisters got a black lab mix when I went to college. (I am dander allergic) she was a sweetie.I now have a labradoodle…non-shedding so good for me, and active -but not as much as a full lab-I live in an apartment. but def has the wonderful sweet loyal personality. The obesity issue is interesting… many have a particular gene PONC that confers lack of satiety.

They're actually bred in England but from Newfoundland water dogs and English gun dogs. Just named Labrador from where they got the water dogs from. It's an English breed though.
