The R (t) in green shows exactly how much oil there is at an exact moment. The white R (t) is used for finding intervals between certain times

1. Answer: I believe you plug in the time in the expression 400sqaure root of T to find the rate
2. In the first problem you square time in the second problem you multiply time by 400. That means the second problem will have more oil leaving per minute then the first

The difference between R(t)=400t and 400√t is 400t is a multiplication of time while 400√t is dividing the time by how much is need to multiply

If we were to use R(T)=400T this means that we would be increasing in the amount, but when using R(T)= 400 square root T the solution decreases their for they are different. For part C the question regarding to choose a 5 minute interval at which the rate increases I looked at the intervals 4-9 and then solved for the it. maybe this will help out

1.Is graphing the best way to do this?
2. 400t is different because time measured by time, compared to the square root finding the specific time to find R

Question: For part C, how are we supposed to locate a 5 second interval in which the rates increasing the fastest? Is there a formula or are we just supposed to think about it?
Answer for the last question is: They're different because we do not have to find the square root of the time, if we don't find the square root the oil would be spilling much quicker.

Ryan D. 1, To make sure I did this correctly, do we plug in any time on the graph for t then find its squared root and then multiply by 400 for part? To answer your last question, they are different because 400(t) will give us much larger answers that could be considered irrational depending on the situation presented, while 400√30 will give us a smaller more considerable number.

The difference is that in one you would mutiply t and the other you would multiply the radical number. My question is the process To both different equations

I believe for rt square root they are not equal because RT 400 is > than the square root of 400 t

For part C. the fastest interval is from 16-25 which is 1500-2000

The difference between R(t)=400√t and R(t)=400t is that one will be multiply and one would be squared rooted.

The difference between R(t)=400√t and R(t)=400t is that one will multiply with 400 while one will be square rooted.

For part C do we place in the 5 into the equation in which we multiply to find the answer?

The difference is that in one you would have to square 400t then on another you would have to multiply 400 to get it by itself.
I have a question, for part C how do we locate a the 5 second interval?

R(t)=400 square root of t is smaller than R(t)=400t because you multiply the value while in the other function you are dividing the t value

I believe that 400t is greater than 400 square root t because 400t is 400 times t and 400 square root t is 400 and the square root of t making the value of t smaller.

Joey p. 1: the difference is that on the first one its the square root of t and the second is to the power of t. They will give you different answers. When its tobthe powet of t it will be multiplied by itself as many times t is. When its square rooted it will decrease in value. (>*, *)> <(*, *<)

The difference is that one will be simplified and the other won't be

For the problem I still don't understand the part of cm^3/min and for the question you asked the rate would be higher between both.

The R(t) in green shows where you can graph therefore the rate.. The white Rt would be greater due to no square root and would show you the whole number.
I need help on the FIRST step of choosing a 5 minute interval..

R(t)=400t is greater than r(t)=400square root of t because with 400t you are multiplying a value without square rooting itself. R(t)=400square root of t is actually reducing itself because it is seeing what number you can multiply by itself to get the number in the square root. Also u plug in a negative value then it will be an imaginary number.
