Compatible Ryzen RAM:
I discovered the "fix" for the Ryzen Memory issues. However, this method may not work with every RAM kit.

Also if it hasn't been mentioned, a bump to SOC voltage can improve memory controller stability. Maximum 'safe' has been said to be 1.2 but I'd start at 1.15 in as small increments as your board will allow.

One other thing that can help overall memory stability is the ProcODT setting if you have it. On crosshair vi extreme (and I imagine the Hero as well) it can be found under Advanced > AMD CBS > UMC Common Options > DDR4 Common Options. I would try settings between 40 & 60. It's been mentioned that up to 80 can work but I personally wouldn't go over 60. And I'd note that on the CH6E with bios version 1701 this option must be set again any time there is a change to base memory frequency. Including if the system fails and automatically lowers your ram speed.

THANK YOU SO DAMN MUCH. I finally got my ram to run at 3200MHz like its supposed to. My MOBO sets voltage to 1.350 by default, so I changed that to 1.4v after i turned on DOCP setting, and it booted it up and its stable. Man this was giving me a headache. I'm glad I came across your video.

Okay, so I see people still commenting and I found a fix for myself. This is extremely situational. I'm running a Ryzen 3200G on an Asus B450-F Mobo. I was upgrading from Team T-Force 2x8 3200Mhz to 4x8 (I bought two more of the same kit to upgrade) I never had an issue running the 2x8 setup at 3200Mhz but when I upgraded I couldn't boot. The b450 does not have a dram boot voltage option (manually) however if you boot the system with the original 2x8 and load into bios, do two things. If it's not already on, turn on the DOCP standard and it'll set your ram frequency to 3200 or whatever your ram capability is. Once completed, go into the EZ tuner (F11 I believe) and change the load setting (tab 2) to gaming and video editing. This will automatically OC vram and CPU (very minimal but seems to make the difference) then boot normally. Once windows has booted, shut down immediately. Install the additional sticks of ram and boot. I recommend going into bios before allowing windows to boot to ensure the system can see all 32g of your ram. I had to change it back to DOCP standard after the second boot and we are now running at 32GB 3200Mhz of Team T-Force ram.

I have only had the pleasure of working with one Ryzen R7 1700 system I built for a customer of mine. He wanted me to also over clock it for him which I did. The Team Group night hawk 3200Mhz memory ran fine at rate speed as well as at 3466Mhz while testing but it left the shop at rated 3200Mhz. The R7 1700 ran all the way up to 4.1Ghz stable but it left the shop at 4Ghz OC and he was very happy with his new system. This was all done a a Cheap MSi B350 gamer board so I was pretty impressed with the whole setup because of all of the performance you got at a great price.

OMFG MAN!!! I was sitting on my 3900x with 2133 frequency for almost 1.5 years until today. I feel myself so dumb. I've enabled XMP profile set ram voltage from 1.35 to 1.36 and it works! Just a couple of clicks... I have not tested stability yet, but the fact that my pc booted with normal frequency is just great by itself. Thank you a lot!
Motherboard: MSI x470 gaming plus max
Ram: Corsair vengance lpx 4x8gb 3200MHz

thank goodness I found this. Trying to overclock to ad speeds made it unstable

For anybody that has a AMD motherboard my fix was the CPU. The CPU had a bad pin so the dual channel would not work. I had to test every part on my pc to figure it out. hope this helps some people.

I didn’t wind up doing this, but your video still showed me what I needed to change to get my ram up to 3200. Thanks a ton.

It kinda worked. 3 hours passed and no freeze, no bluescreen. I will leave an update when it will freeze.

Thank you so much! My PC would only recognise 4gb worth of ram before this, changing the VRAM voltage from 1.2 to 1.3 means I can now put in 16gb with no issue.

On Gigabyte MOBA's: Go MIT/Voltages and change DRAM Voltage to 1.35 and the one below termination half of it: 0.675. If you have memory higher than 2933Mhz enable xmp and downscale to 2933Mhz since Ryzen supports it. If it is an higher frequency like 3200mhz change it to 2933 and down the timings to have still better performance. I have a XMP 3200Mhz kit 2x 16gb with XMP C15-17-17-34 and I now have on OC a stable 2933Mhz C13-13-13-26 1.35V 0.675V

32gb corsair lpx 3200mhz 4x8 kit, cant get my ryzen past 4.25ghz on any voltage and my kit cant go past 3000mhz on the xmp / DCOP profile. Gonna try the dram boot voltage to see if that works

I had XMP turned on with my gigabyte B550 and it wasn’t stable. I used OCCT for testing and was getting CPU and RAM errors. Default without XMP was 2133 which I didn’t want considering my RAM is rated for 3000. XMP was setting it to 3000mhz, 15-15-15-36 and 1.2v. I decided to manually input what it said on the side of my RAM (16-18-18-36 and 1.35v) so far I’ve turned it up to 3400 without errors. Another issue I ran across was the stock CPU voltage making my R5 3600 run hot at like 90c. Once I was sure my RAM was stable I started under-volting. I worked my way down to 1.2v VCORE and still managed 4.2 ghz all core on the stock cooler. I decided at this point that I trust nothing set to auto so I set my CPU’s SOC voltage to 1.1v to help with RAM stability even more (do not go over 1.2v, most say even 1.2 isn’t safe and I’ve heard of issues above 1.15) eventually I may experiment with RAM sub-timings but as of now everything works very smooth.

I just updated the bios and then set overclock tuner to D.O.C.P. It maxed out my g skillz ram to 3, 000. Nice video thanks!

This is huge. I'm almost positive this is what my issue has been. My 3600 ram was only running at 2133.

thanks this helped me finally getting rated speed of my ram of 3200mhz instead of 2133mhz.

Life saver!!!! My Ryzen 2700x and FlareX 16gb kit was never stable, it was at 1.2v I put it at 1.3v and is now stable for the first time in 5 months!

It's been said here before but soc voltage and procODT are super huge in getting speeds up. I have my OG Trident Z 3200cl14 overclocked to 3600cl15 on my 4ghz threadripper 1920x currently with only 1 crash to get it stable. Probably still headroom, but I can't overstate the importance of procODT enough.
