Advanced US Nuclear Ship Is Trapped In Time Travel Back To WWII To Change History

A modern U.S. Navy aircraft carrier, conducting exercises in the Pacific Ocean. During a routine maneuver, the ship and its crew are mysteriously transported back in time to December 6, 1941, the day before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. As the crew of the Nimitz realizes they have been sent to the past, they face the moral and strategic dilemma of whether to intervene in the upcoming attack, which could significantly alter the course of history. Commander Matthew Yelland (played by Kirk Douglas) and his crew must decide whether to use their advanced technology and knowledge of future events to prevent the attack or to allow history to take its natural course.

There was an episode from the original Twilight Zone series Only in the original one it was an army tank unit that was transported back to just before Custer's last stand. They decided that they was going to change it around and enter the fight with the tank. All of a sudden, the tank failed to work so they decided to enter the fight on foot. At the end, they should the burial sights of all soldiers who died in the along with the names of the tank crew from the future.
