If you have the annoying issue where you click once and your mouse registers a double-click on your MX Anywhere Mouse, here's a quick guide to fixing it. You won't need to open up the mouse and spend hours fiddling with micro-switches - just lever up the problem button and stick a small piece of tape inside! Doable in 30 seconds!
Does anyone know if this same trick works for other Logitech mouses like the VX Nano or G602?

Just did it to an MX Anywhere 3. I felt like I was going to break it, but it popped up just like the video. Immediate results are good, time will tell if it lasts. Thank you for the video!

Thank you very much! 5 Years i thought that my Anywhere MX was dead, but now, COVID-19 gave me some time and it is in action again!

Very impressed that this fixed my inadvertent double clicking. I was skeptical, but it worked, and I didn't have to take it apart. Thank you!

Before you try this, Logitech Support suggests removing the batteries and clicking both buttons about 30 times each, which fixes a similar problem. If that doesn't work, then try this!

Got a defect MX from my brother about a year ago. I tried to reset and some other ways, trying to fix it, but nothing worked. I even thought of throwing it away since it usually made me delete things or close window unintentionally. But then I found this video.. and now it works like charm... Thank you, Jim.. Many thanks...

THANK YOU!!! My mouse was double clicking on me every other time I clicked. It was so annoying. I was WAY too nervous to try the other options of taking the mouse all apart. The tape worked for me. it has been about 5 days and it has NOT double clicked even once! So happy because otherwise I absolutely love my Anywhere If it does stop working again in time, I may try what was done in comments below 10 months ago: He says: - "My problem was resolved just pulling the button (plunger) and pushing again. I did not need to put a tape between plunger and button click. This problem occur because the protection case of mouse, keep pressed the plunger in the click button" - Thank you again.

Fabulous! This quick fix worked amazingly. I assumed I was going to need to purchase a new mouse as taking mine apart and installing new sensors wasn't worth the time/effort. In under 5 mins, my left-click button was functioning normal again. This guy deserves 5 stars for this video.

Just know that you saved a Logitech Mx from being tossed out the window. I lost it when the double clicking began, saw this video, tried it, and it worked! If my mouse could speak it would thank you for saving its life. Thanks again.

Thank you, PenguinJim. I tried this on my Logitech VX Nano and it now works again! I'm extra pleased because Logitech no longer sells the VX Nano, and there's no better mouse on the market today.

I was about to rope my MX Anywhere 3 to a cinder block and toss it in the ocean. The double clicking was driving me bonkers. This simple fix is a marvel. Penguin Jim, I bow to you.

This works for my logitech m238 mouse. I opened the mouse by using the end of my scissor to pry open and take off the whole plastic cover. Then I put tape on it twice for good measure.
Now the double-click problem is fixed! Thank you!

Thanks, easily fixed my MX anywhere 2 mouse problem where it was randomly releasing and reselecting during drag and drop. This made photo editing especially hard.
I pulled the mouse button open with my index finger(nail) and blew into it strongly (you can also use compressed air).

The battery removal and 30+ seconds worth of rapid clicking didn't fix my MX Anywhere's double-click issue, but this seems to be working so far. Thanks for sharing!

In 2021, your video continues to work magic. Today I decided to give my old unfaithful Anywhere Mouse one last chance before throwing it away. Tried your fix, got it working. Very helpful! Thanks!

Damn, I have 3 of these because I kept having to buy a new one every time the clicker gave out. Now I have 2 Anywhere MX 2s. But now that you've showed me how to fix this (it really works) I have a million mice lol. I'm bringing one to work. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much! Five years later and this is still relevant!!

Thanks, great video. Instead of using tape, you can use contact cleaner spray directly to micro switches, what will dissolve corrosion from electrical contacts, and resolve real issue with them (e.g. Kontakt 60)

Thank you so much - it worked!!!. I nearly threw my mouse through the screen today it was annoying me so much. It is my third one, all have had this problem after 6 months but apart from that I really like the mouse so I am glad I saw your video.

I was wondering why you need to put a tape under the right button, if you have problems with the left one (double click). But I gave it a try anyway and it works!

The result is not persistent however, sometimes the problem occurs again. More manipulations with tape are needed, I guess. Or a new mouse, if nothing will help.

Great and easy to implement instruction anyway, thank you very much! This already saved my nerves for a whole day without unintentional double clicks.

Worked perfectly. Click feels slightly different but doesn't affect function. Much better than buying a new mouse. Make sure to use painter/masking tape, as I tried it with electrical tape and it's too thick.
