I'm not a communist, nor a sovietophile but you just gotta admire the Red Army Choir's voice. I'm no musician either so I can't exactly describe it but there's something about the way they sing, along with the enviable unity which gives songs a unique and pleasant twist.

I unironically want our schools to play this song at least once in a while. Even though this is from the Red Army choir, this version has much more emotion and pride than the versions of the anthem that they play daily.

Well as a Canadian who’s heard this song more times than I can count, this rendition feels different. Really the only way I can describe it is they took the calm and methodical formula and added this “gusto” to it.
Almost making this simple song a grandiose piece, but that is just the Soviet choir being the Soviet choir.
