I just wish MS realized that pushing AI is not going to endear themselves to most of their users who just want to browse normally and don't care for all of these fancy add ons.

I hate Edge because of just how much Microsoft tries to force it on you

I fell in love with Firefox In 2008. So 16 years of happy!!! 😊 😊😊

For once I totally disagree, respectfully. Get rid of that BS ASAP. It is major spyware and runs in the background even if you don't use it. There are many safe ways to get rid of it for good.

I was using Chrome for years but I've ditched it gone back to using Edge. It's actually fairly good these days. I've never gelled with Firefox despite trying it several times.

Edit: Chrome is still installed

I can uninstall Edge just fine, by right clicking and selecting uninstall. This is possible as of april 2024 because of the Digital Rights Act in the EEA

One could use winget or the microsoft store to download an other browser. Or delete Edge and download 2 other browsers. There is only one reason not to uninstall Edge, as you said it might screw up your system if you are outside of the EEA.

Do you recall many years ago when Microsoft stated Internet Explorer couldn't be removed from windows, then someone proved it could.

I uninstalled EDGE using wise uninstaller and force uninstalled it. It was one of the first things I did after installing Brave.

Although Firefox is my browser of choice, I like to have multiple browsers installed for various reasons.

I live in France and after installing Windows 11 on my new SSD, I did the classic "Add or remove programs" bloatware sort-through, and noticed I could uninstall Edge like any other program. So I did that, and before uninstalling all it did was pop up a window to say "When you uninstall Microsoft Edge, your apps and widgets that depend on Edge will no longer be available" to try to scare inexperienced users I guess. I was like "LOL NICE TRY" and uninstalled.
I do agree on having at least a second browser though, I use Brave as my daily browser and have Firefox Dev Edition as my 2nd option. :)

I use Brave, find it great. I keep backups of my browser installation on an external drive. U also have Firefox as a backup.
I deleted Microsoft Edge and Edge WebView2 Runtime with REVO Uninstaller and have never had an issue.

I'm a Firefox user. I keep Edge and Chrome on my PC to confirm if a website is broken or not loading correctly. Sometimes, the Adguard and Malwarebytes extensions on Firefox block loading websites; this is when other browsers come into play.

I have used Firefox for years - good browser with great bookmark interface - but since Firefox started rejecting sites because it didn’t accept their certificates I have been using Chrome more and more despite its bookmark handling.

I rarely delete a browser but have many browsers as sometimes it is great to have multiple browsers is a great idea.

I use primarily Brave, with LibreWolf as backup. Edge is still installed as one of my work programs requires it, but I have its resource access limited.

The problem with leaving Edge intact is that it remains like a virus to download updates and other crap while we have no idea what it's doing in the background. It's just creepy seeing it working in the background.

The other day I was working on a clients PC which had malware that actually completely disabled the default browser, in this case Firefox. I used Edge that was still installed on the system to get what I needed. I use Chrome personally and keep Edge just in case. It is a good idea. Thanks for sharing.

I mainly use Edge. I prefer it to Chrome. I also use Firefox when Edge gives me problems. I found out that Brave and Google Chrome gave me the same problem as Edge when I do have a problem, but Firefox always works. The problems I mainly encounter are some rare issues when using streaming services, or making a booking.
It's maybe just me, but Firefox seems a bit more sluggish, and poorer video quality when streaming, especially 4k. That's why I mainly use Edge, even though I think Firefox is more reliable.

I primarily use a Macintosh. My prime browser is Brave and my "backup" browser is Safari. I did use Edge for awhile and I primarily used it to keep my bookmarks and some downloads. While my main PC was Windows, I used Vivaldi. Vivaldi and Edge are multi-platform browser. They were used to move to Mac and the latter was to Linux.
