I'm going to disagree with if it ends horribly, he won't come back. My situation ended HORRIBLE. The worse of the worst, cops were called and all. But low and behold..HE CAME BACK. Unpopular opinion, but I wouldn't mind if he reaches out in the future. We did part ways, but it was peaceful and respectful. If he chooses to reach out, I am willing to listen, and possibly give another try, while definitely maintaining some boundaries.

Yeah, I've had plenty of exes or past guy friends reach out years later to admit regret for not appreciating the chances they had at the time. Young guys especially like to think the grass is gonna be greener elsewhere plus tend to operate more on short-term decision-making... super impulsive & often learning the hard way while being too sure of themselves in the moment. But once the brain matures, they gain more life or social experience, many realizations can come about regarding past choices/ mistakes. Genuinely good women almost always leave some kind of permanent mark on the guys they come across, but it often takes them trying to replace her to realize she isn't replaceable.

HOWEVER, there's zero point in caring whether or not he does try to come back. Don't waste energy on ppl who left you standing alone for whatever reason. If a guy reaches out to apologize for his past idiocy, gracefully accept, keep those boundaries in place & carry forth. It's his responsibility to live with the choices he made.

I have to disagree. This whole thing about the guy coming back is a fantasy we girls like to believe. It all boils down to self-respect. A guy with high self-respect and with options that are better (better-looking) or equal as you, that he can build the same level of connection/chemistry with will NEVER come back. I've left many guys and never looked back. Some came back, some never did.

When a relationship doesn't work out because he is pulling away, it means that he is not that into you and does not see you as being "The one". Accept this and move on with your life.
