Volodymyr Zelensky has downplayed the loss of the eastern city of Avdiivka to Russian forces. However, the Ukrainian president admitted that the last year had been "complicated" for Ukraine. Even so, Ukraine faces a new wave of ammunition shortages; European defense officials concede that Kyiv can put up a creditable show by rationing its ammunition smartly and efficiently.

How could Ukraine believe that Russia would accept hostile NATO just at its border? They should have brains.

The situation is not funny at all!! Both sides need to soften their tone because real people are dying in the war. Solders are losing lives and limbs, mothers are losing children, Ukraine's economy is shrinking tremendously. All Ukraine needed to do was to stay neural and not join NATO. Unfortunately human lives have become a currency for the powerful, ready to waste it for power chess.

Many US academics, politicians and other experts predicted the war based on Western behaviour and policy. Safe to say that a predicted war is also an avoidable war. We can all agree that negotiating with Putin is not the best of situations, but unless you have a plan for war and ready to support said plan to the fullest best to avoid the fight. What do I mean by this? Ukraine never received the support necessary to win. Let us take Germany as an example. At first Germany limited her contribution to helmets. When Poland wanted to give Leopard tanks early on in the conflict, Germany disallowed the move. THAT WAS NOT HELPFUL! The West kept having committee meetings on what range missiles given to Ukraine should have. Really? Ukraine asked for tanks and aircraft from day one of the conflict. What they got was support that involved more ass scratching than actual help. Now the war is soon going to celebrate its second birthday and Ukraine is running out of everything including soldiers. Russia on the other hand, got a good ass kicking in the beginning, but is, albeit slowly, getting its shit together. Here is something interesting. Experts place Russia's GDP as equal to that of Spain or Italy. NATO's GDP, astronomical in comparison. Despite this astronomical GDP, NATO is hard pressed in providing Ukraine with artillery shells. North Korea, whose GDP is a mere fart in a tornado by any measure, allegedly delivered one million artillery shells to Russia. Another interesting fact. Russia is severely sanctioned. Ukrainians, who are inspecting downed Russian missiles, are finding Western microchips in them, including units from Intel and Texas Instruments. Yes, the sanctions are harsh and are definitely having an effect, but by the time Russia buckles under them, Ukraine will run out of Ukrainians. Do not get me wrong, I want Ukraine to win. Unfortunately, and I sincerely hope that I am wrong, I think that ship has sailed and sunk.
