That is the bow of Odysseus, no mere mortal can draw it. If they can and can shoot an arrow through the eye of 12 axe heads, they get Penelope' hand in marriage.

It really goes to show how the crossbow (and later the gun) was SUCH a a revolution in ranged warfare. That a person could be trained in *weeks* to be proficient with a crossbow to the point they could effectively match bowmen as part of a team is insane

Yknow this would've been the perfect opportunity to show how the ancient Greeks did their grappling matches (naked it was naked)

A most excellent demonstration of the war bow's intimidating draw weight! Our narrator, Yew Strainhard!!, makes it look all too easy!

Thanks to you I just bought myself a 67 inch bow that has a 47# at 28 draw and holy s*** is this thing harder to fire than I thought. I can only imagine the difficulty of that monstrosity

Man, here I am struggling even with my 50 pound bow. After a few shots, my deltoid muscles fall off, even though I have been weight training for many years.

People who are not experienced with archery or bow hunting have no idea what kind of strength it takes to draw a heavy bow.

Now imagine all those people mandated to be able to draw bows like that in England. Imagining a bunch of pauper with bad teeth all ripped like Greek statues.
