I Bought the PORTABLE Xbox…

This is truly as close as we’re going to get to a Portable Xbox for now. And for how close this console is, it makes you think… how hard would it be for Microsoft to create their own Portable Xbox? Just give it hardware like this, have it boot straight into the Xbox app, and optimize it a bit. It really doesn’t seem that far out of the realm of possibility. Do you think they’ll ever do it?

If these handhelds sell well enough, I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft makes a handheld XBox. It'll have about the same performance as the S. They can get a custom chip from AMD like Valve did for the Deck.

I remember that the original Xbox ran with a very stripped down version of Windows 2000, so people can basically get on PC gaming on console even though the Xbox had a very small amount of memory, and I think Microsoft should do that approach, a stripped down version of Windows 10/11 that boots up straight up to the Xbox app or heck even Steam, but unlike the Steamdeck, you are running the games natively on Windows and since you cut all the clout you could get better performance, in that way you could get a better performing handheld, and Microsoft could even license the OS so other manufacturers can use it and even people on PC or gaming laptops could have the option.

I used to have gamepass, but I’ve recently gotten rid of it and don’t see myself getting it again. The only reason I would want to get this device is if I would be able to download my Xbox games on it and be able to play them on the go. Is that possible with this device? I understand that this device is basically a portable pc that you can play games on, but I don’t own any games on pc. I only own games on Xbox specifically. Microsoft really needs to make a real portable Xbox. Nintendo’s been doing it since the DS, Playstation has the PSP, and Valve has the Steam Deck.

Thanks for showing that it still can do remote play. Many people keep saying it can't play Xbox games for some reason when I'm really out can play all of them.

This is the exact video I e been looking for. I bought the ROG Ally a few hours ago and I haven’t opened it yet. I was on my way home; listening to a PS Remote Play video on ROG Ally and it seemed like I couldn’t play PS Remote play on the device at all. Hours later, now, I found your video.

much better than PSPortal but you have Ponys and Ign rating higher than the steam deck and this. Its absolutely insane. In no world does the portal touch those two handhelds.

I found the PS cloud gaming stuff is very inconsistent compared to Game Pass Cloud hopfully sony can catch up to what ever Microsoft & even Nvidia with GeForce Now is doing as they run far better and more consistent

The one thing I didn’t like about my steam deck was no windows and no Xbox app. I didn’t want go through hoops to install windows on my deck so this was a no brainer. Had the ally since day one and love it, I prefer the windows functionality with game pass and if i want to go back to my steam games I can do that with my deck. Great to have two options.

This is ironically Stronger than the Xbox series S since it's based on RDNA3 vs 2 in the S + it's performance per watt is amazing

I have a question, and if the answer is yes I need this console now. I'm a D2 player but on Xbox. Can I get this console and download D2 and sign into my Xbox account with it?? Or would I have to sign in through steam??

Windows handhelds can play entire Steam library. the Steam Deck can't.

bought my steam deck a month ago for an insane price on market place and could not be happier. It definitely has super annoying kinks that will hopefully be fixed overtime cause honestly my touch keyboard works about 60% of the time which is nuts. also the desktop mode is pretty broken, but when it works, I can basically play any single one of my quacked windows games through the steam library and its awesome.

not regretting my purchase even knowing this beast of a handheld was coming out too. The Ally seems so legit and just another confirmation that this market is gonna get WILD in the next couple of years, probably sooner. I'll most likely be looking at getting the Ally 2 by the time I need an upgrade because the Deck just feels like it'll hold its own for years to come.

All I want to know is this... I want to play all three fables, halo mcc, the Witcher, gears, and the occasional newer game like Spiderman and eventually Spiderman 2. What system is better for that?

This is a pass for me.
The battery life is too short for this to be a reasonable option. I might as well just play on a desktop, especially considering I would have to make performance sacrifices going under 60fps to have better battery life.
It just doesn't seem worth it, especially if you already have a decent desktop like I do.
I feel like the technology isn't quite there for these handheld gaming PC's.
If it had a battery life of at least 4 hours at 1080p 60fps on average, I could understand getting something like this.
However, right now it seems there are too many sacrifices to make for portability on modern triple A games.
