To anyone experiencing this, you’re not alone, I have been dealing with this for the past month and half .I have been having brain fog, I feel like I’m dying of a undiagnosed disease, my have back pains, stomach problems and I can’t sleep until sun rise . The weird thing is that I’m fine all day but as soon as nightfall hits I start getting the jitters and the bad brain fog .

I had insomnia and was beating it, but it came roaring back with a vengeance and the anxiety was like nothing before it. I now have generalized anxiety disorder and health anxiety and constant ruminating. I have to go on Lexapro now. All because of insomnia. If I could have just slept, I would be able to deal with the day-to-day worries. Now my mind and body are too weak to combat it properly.

I can fall asleep fairly quick usually but I wake up during the night with anxiety. And that's when I stay up.

2am, and can you guess why I’m awake watching this when I have to be up in 4 hours...

I wish I could afford some help. Hopefully as Covid restrictions lift, I will be able to get some mental health assistance as I have been struggling a lot since the lockdowns began. Thanks for letting me know that this isn’t ok to be living with and that I need to seek help... and also that I’m not alone in my struggle.

Fun fact not all sleep issues are based on mental issues. Ignoring the physical reasons is quite harmful for those who suffer from it without knowing and no one talks about it, EVER! For years I thought I couldnt sleep for mental reasons when in fact I had a neurological disorder. If I overexert my body I get so much adrenalin I cant sleep. I have to relax in bed the whole day after otherwise it will continue, thats how I ended up not sleeping for days at a time for years.

So lately, I've been having this sleep problem that keeps me awake at night. Whenever I am about to fall asleep and have a glimpse of my dream, my body automatically wakes me up for some reason even without interruptions. I wear earplugs and all I see and hear nothing during these moments. It's like drifting into subconsciousness just to only be brought back to reality. I experience this for hours before being able to sleep and it drives me crazy. The last time I experienced this was during a traumatic event. Now, this feeling triggers every time I get woken up during my sleep by a sudden noise. Then a day after that, whenever I sleep, I get woken up for no reason even though if my surroundings are quiet and dark regardless of being happy, sad, stressed or angry. This kind of sensation lasts for about a day but now, it lasted for three days.

Someone please help...

I think a part of lying that you weren't asleep is also not wanting to make the person who called feel bad about waking you up

Am here because I didn't sleep an ounce last night. My body feels like it's literally collapsing. Some people wouldn't understand you have to go through it. Nobody wants to be up all night with their mind all over the place.

You're talking about sleep ONSET insomnia. Nobody us helping those of with sleep MAINTENANCE insomnia. It's most common in menopausal and post menopausal women who fall asleep fine then wake after (generally) two sleep cycles. Then they're awake for 2-3 hours and are ready to fall asleep again just before It's time to wake up. It's chronic and very disabljng

Does anybody else wake up gasping for air? Or sometimes with a dry mouth and throat and not being able to breath right for a few seconds?

yes it can i had a month of really bad sleep and my oura ring was showing 20 minutes or less of deep sleep and less than an hour of REM. I had body aches joint pains, headaches everyday I felt so anxious and stressed and i had depersonalization and brain fog. I wasn't functioning. I stopped caffeine as well and when my sleep started getting better most if not all my problems went away. I started seeing 2-3 hours of REM and 2 hours of deep sleep and when i had this for a week consistently, my body repaired. The chronic fatigue i had and just horrible pain and wild anxiety and depression also subsided. SLEEP is the most important non-negotiable part of my life now
