How does this not have more views! Exactly what we was looking for. We read all the small print but thought we would see if anyone had summarised it.

Spunds like Genki really is the best choice.

Hello you two, good to see you are still out and about in this big world. (I met you both during your time in Cambodia). I felt I should point out that when your SafetyWing policy expires after 364 days and you get a new policy ANY problems you had when covered by them the previous year(s) are now pre-existing and no longer covered. So not the best policy to have if you do run into any medical issues and are a long-term expat. (I read about this in some reviews and then did confirm it with SafetyWing).

Thanks for the info. I've been shopping for ex-pat insurance and will check it out. I'm seeing some quotes between $500 to $1000 a month for people pushing 60'

Thank you very much for such an informative video. The only thing I still can't wrap my head around... Should I read the fine print? lol

I checked the terms and conditions and enquired with both companies and I'm afraid to tell you that they both consider pre-existing any condition developed during the previous contract with them. This means that at the renewal they will either refuse or raise the prime if the nez condition developed requires expensive treatments or medications.

Just as important is dispute resolution and choice of law provisions contained in the policy. All the promises to pay sound good, but what if they decline coverage? Many policies contain mandatory arbitration clauses. This means you can not take them to a court of law. I have seen some polices where the language includes "if we agree to arbitrate". In other words, they will arbitrate if they want to. And if that isn't bad enough, look for provisions where you have to arbitrate in Texas or some other distant state. Finally, choice of law: There is a good chance that the law applied to your dispute will not be the law of your state. Some policies apply the law of Bermuda. Do you really think you are going to get paid if they don't want to pay?

Genki is a fucking nightmare and i highly discourage anyone from getting it. Had a pretty decent time with safetywing travel insurance but switching to genki was a HUGE mistake.

Safety wings is the worst you can get . Never refunded me nothing in 4 trips providing witness, receipts and documentations. DO NOT GET IT
